Provincetown Counter Productions to Present INTO THE WOODS, 11/23-12/4
Provincetown Counter Productions will present Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Award winning musical Into the Woods November 23-December 4. Performances will take place Wednesday, Friday-Sunday, November 23, 25-27 at 7pm with matinees at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday, November 26-27 and December 3-4. Susan Grilli directs and Casey Sanderson will provide musical direction. Tickets are priced $16-18 and are available by calling 508.413.1000 or www.counter-productions.org.
The musical intertwines the plots of several fairy tales and follows them further to explore the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The familiar characters are tied together by a more original story involving a baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family. The original Broadwayproduction won Tony Awards for Best Book and Score of a MusicaProvincetown Counter Productions is a non-profit producing organization presenting live theatre, music and performance with a particular emphasis on the development of new work and emerging artists.
