PSYCHO BEACH PARTY Begins Performances at Factory Theatre Tonight
The Happy Medium Theatre Company and Heart & Dagger Productions are thrilled to announce the conclusion of their 4th and 3rd Seasons with PSYCHO BEACH PARTY by Charles Busch. The production previews tonight, July 25th and opens July 26th at the Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA.
PSYCHO BEACH PARTY gives "Gidget", Frankie and Annette beach party epics, and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as "Spellbound" and "Marnie" are given a shotgun marriage. PSYCHO BEACH PARTY will be the 2nd collaboration between Happy Medium Theatre Company and Heart & Dagger Productions.Charles Busch's PSYCHO BEACH PARTY is a hilarious romp following Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy, who desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency towards split personalities (and a flat chest, of course). Among them is a black check out girl, an elderly radio talk show hostess, a male model named Steve and the accounting firm of Edelman and Edelman. Her most dangerous alter ego is a sexually voracious vixen named Ann Bowman who has nothing less than world domination on her mind.
PSYCHO BEACH PARTY will be directed by Barbara DiGirolamo (MilkMilkLemonade, Heart & Dagger Productions) and Mikey DiLoreto (The Revenants, Happy Medium Theatre). Long-time collaborators, DiGirolamo and DiLoreto are no strangers to campy fun or parody. The cast will be led by Joey C. Pelletier (Dog Sees God, Happy Medium Theatre, Artistic Director of Heart & Dagger) as Chicklet Forrest and features Heart & Dagger and Happy Medium regulars; Elizabeth Battey, Barbara DiGirolamo, Mikey DiLoreto, Lauren Foster, Amy Meyer, Johnny Quinones, Danny Raps, and Audrey Lynn Sylvia!
