North Shore Music Theatre Presents GUYS AND DOLLS, Now thru 11/11

Bill Hanney's award winning North Shore Music Theatre presents an all-new sizzling production of GUYS AND DOLLS opening tonight, October 30, and playing through Sunday, November 11. With its unforgettable songs and a cast of gamblers, gals and gangsters, GUYS AND DOLLS is musical entertainment you can bet on. Press night is scheduled for October 31 at 7:30pm.

"We are excited to be ending the subscription season with the classic musical Guys and Dolls," said owner and producer Bill Hanney. " This show is considered to be the perfect musical, and our Artistic Director Arianna Knapp, director Mark Martino, and I have put together the perfect cast of performers to bring this colorful show to life. I know our audiences will be thrilled with this production."

Set in the hustle and bustle of prohibition era New York City, GUYS AND DOLLS soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters including; Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.

GUYS AND DOLLS, based on "The Idyll of Sarah Brown" and characters by Damon Runyon, features a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, and an iconic score by Frank Loesser that includes such songs as "Luck Be A Lady," "Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat," "If I Were A Bell," and "A Bushel and a Peck."

The cast of GUYS AND DOLLS will be led by Jonathan Hammond (Nathan Detroit), Mylinda Hull (Miss Adelaide), Kelly McCormick (Sarah Brown), and Kevin Vortmann (Sky Masterson). The cast also includes Wayne Pretlow (Nicely Nicely), Ben Roseberry (Benny Southstreet), Jamie Ross (Arvide), and Jessica Sheridan (General Cartwright).

The 22 person cast also includes Chip Abbott, James Beaman, Katie Chung, Kurt Domoney, Steve Greenstein, Meghan Glogower, Lauren Kadel, Ben Liebert, Lizzy Palmer, Antuan Raimone, Clifton Samuels, Michael Scott, Justin M. Urso, and Michael Warrell.

GUYS AND DOLLS will be directed by Mark Martino, choreographed by Michael Lichtefeld, and musical direction will be provided by Craig Barna. The creative team also includes Erik D. Diaz (Scenic Designer), Paula Peasley-Ninestein (Costume Coordinator), Kirk Bookman (Lighting Designer), Michael Eisenberg (Sound Designer) Gerard Kelly (Wig and Hair Design), Natalie A. Lynch (Production Stage Manager), Colin R. Freeman (Assistant Musical Director), and Michael T. Clarkston (Assistant Stage Manager). GUYS AND DOLLS is produced for North Shore Music Theatre by Bill Hanney (Owner/Producer), Arianna Knapp (Artistic Director), and Beth Vasta (Associate Producer).

Tickets for the GUYS AND DOLLS are priced from $40 - $70. All remaining seats are $25 for the October 31 performance at 7:30pm. The 2012 musical season concludes with the return of New England's brightest holiday tradition A Christmas Carol, December 7 –23, starring David Coffee as Ebenezer Scrooge and George Dvorsky as The Ghost of Christmas Present.

Since 1955, NSMT has become one of the most attended theatres in New England, with approximately 250,000 patrons annually. With a national and regional reputation for artistic achievement, NSMT has received numerous industry awards including Elliot Norton Awards, IRNE Awards, the Rosetta Le Noire Award from Actors' Equity, and the Moss Hart Award. NSMT produced the World Premiere of Memphis in 2003, the show went on to win four 2010 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Under the new ownership of Bill Hanney in 2010, NSMT continues to annually produce a musical subscription series and an annual production of A Christmas Carol along with celebrity concerts and children's programming.
