New Exhibition Room announces Shh!
Shh! explores the role of censorship in a free society.
The show runs July 9-25 at Boston Playwright's Theatre and features Boston artists from a wide array of backgrounds.

Shh! is a frenetic exploration of censorship both public and private. Together with the New Exhibition Room (NXR) ensemble we'll look at the past, present and future of censorship, how we censor ourselves, each other and why? Who are we protecting, who are we hurting and what are the consequences of censoring or not censoring in society today?

Created by the NXR ensemble (Melissa Barker, Nate Gundy, Hannah Husband, Chuong Pham, Alex Simoes and Christina Watka) Shh! uses banned books, documentary movies, personal interviews, music, and even cheerleading to create a vaudeville collage that's part sketch comedy, Sesame Street, and Charlie Chaplin. Shh! is maybe just a little bit offensive and if not, there will be nudity!

Shh! runs from July 9th - July 25th at Boston Playwrights' Theatre, 949 Commonwealth Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
