Michael Halling and Samantha Hill to Lead THE MOUSETRAP at Cape Playhouse

The 90th anniversary season of The Cape Playhouse wraps up with Agatha Christie's mystery classic, The Mousetrap. Directed by Pamela Hunt, it runs August 23 - September 3. Press night is set for Tuesday, August 23 at 7:30 pm.

On a snowy night at Monkswell Manor, young newlyweds Mollie Ralston and Giles Ralston welcome a group of strangers to their guest house, only to discover news of a murderer in their midst! A police investigation reveals the sordid details of each guest's mysterious past, but not soon enough to stop the killer from striking again. Agatha Christie's masterful whodunit weaves an intricate plot filled with nerve-rattling suspense, all leading up to the ultimate final twist!

Michael Halling (Broadway: A Tale of Two Cities, The Pajama Game; Cape Playhouse: 1776, Crazy For You) is Giles Ralston, the husband; Samantha Hill (Broadway: revival of Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera) is Mollie Ralston.

The cast also features Matt Harrington (Broadway: Matilda the Musical (RSC); "Boardwalk Empire," TV: "Boardwalk Empire," "The Good Wife) as Sergeant Trotter; Darrie Lawrence (Broadway: Come Back Little Sheba; Steel Magnolias) as Mrs. Boyle; Jay Ben Markson (Huntington Theatre Company, Cleveland Playhouse, Cape Playhouse debut) ,asChristopher Wren; Bill Nolte (Broadway: Cats, Secret Garden, Follies; Cape Playhouse: Drowsy Chaperone) as Major Metcalf; Scott Schaefer (Broadway: Three Men on a Horse; TV: "Law and Order" as Mr.Paravacini; and Alice Sherman (Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Texas Shakespeare Festival; Cape Playhouse debut) as Miss Casewell.

Pamela Hunt (Cape Playhouse: fifteen plays and nine musicals; Drama Desk Award: The Musical of Musicals; Actors Theatre of Louisville, ACT, Alabama Shakespeare, Asolo, Cincinnati Playhouse, Cleveland Playhouse, Milwaukee Rep., Ordway, Papermill Playhouse Geva Theater) directs. The design team includes John Morgan (scenic design), Meganne George (costume design), Mary Jo Dondliner (lighting design), and Jeff Sherwood (sound design).

Agatha Christie (Playwright) Born in Torquay in 1890, Agatha Christie became, and remains, the best-selling novelist of all time. She is best known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, as well as the world's longest-running play - The Mousetrap. Her books have sold over a billion copies in the English language and a billion in 44 foreign languages.

Playing August 23 through September 3, performances are Monday through Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm, Thursdaythrough Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, with matinees on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 pm and Saturdays at 4:00 pm.
