Kristen van Ginhoven, WAM's Artistic Director, will teach a workshop today, July 22 from 1pm-4:30 at Eleven in Great Barrington where she will share what she learned while recently working at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival of Canada. The cost is $49 and a portion of proceeds will go towards WAM's fall world premiere production of 'The Old Mezzo' by Susan Dworkin.

The workshop will explore classical text analysis and character development as well as revisit the physical and vocal warm-up and how to work on a thrust stage. Workshop is appropriate for actors and directors. Everyone is asked to bring a classical monologue, written in verse. No prep on monologue is required. All levels of experience are welcome.

"I found the workshop clear, to-the-point, and useful in many practical ways" said Schenectady June Workshop Participant David Braucher, Equity Actor. Roseann Cane, actor and director adds, '"Kristen provided tools that are new to me, and I know I'm going to find them useful, especially the way of breaking down a monologue in layers, from parentheticals on down."

To sign up, email Kristen at kristen@wamtheatre.com or call 518.243.9627.
