Huntington Theatre Co Presents Emerging America Festival 5/2

Huntington Theater Company Presents A Moving Festival (Launching the Emerging America Festival)
May 2, 2010 in Harvard Square

A collaboration with the Harvard Square Business Association's Annual Mayfair. The institutions and artists of the Emerging America Festival create a moving party leading from OBERON to the center of Harvard Square's Mayfair celebration. This extraordinary street spectacle will converge at 12:45pm and march, led by INCUS and Vadalna Tribal Dance Company to the Mayfair main stage. From 1pm to 1:30pm, a rally will overtake the crowd, celebrating the artists of Greater Boston and Cambridge, and launching the Emerging America Festival.

Continued through the day, these companies will perform on spontaneous stages throughout the square!

From May 14 through 16, Emerging America will bring some of the country's most promising performers, writers, companies and directors to Boston for a weekend filled with energy, imagination, creativity and drama.

Emerging America spans Boston and Cambridge with events happening at all three artistic homes throughout the weekend: the A.R.T. @ OBERON, at 2 Arrow St. Cambridge MA, the Huntington's Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, 527 Tremont Street, Boston, and the ICA at 100 Northern Avenue, Boston.
