Fresh Ink Brings MAD DASH to the Lyric Stage- One Night Only

Fresh Ink Theatre heats up the summer with the 5th Annual Mad Dash: A Theatrical Endeavor in 24-Hours. This one night only event is Fresh Ink's first event at the Lyric Stage Company through their new partnership. Curtain is at 8pm at the Lyric Stage.

In the winter of 2013 Fresh Ink staff members devised a plan to bring together writers, actors, and directors from all over the city for a community building event taking place over the course of 24-hours. In just one day, 16 playwrights, 8 directors, and over 20 actors bring to the stage eight new plays, hot off the press. After four years in different venues, Fresh Ink is excited to bring this event to the Lyric Stage.

8pm Friday night, playwrights are randomly paired, given casting requirements, a handful of prompts and sent off to write. Throughout the night they receive additional prompts to weave into their writing as well as social media challenges.

7:00am Saturday morning, scripts are in!

9:00am Directors are randomly assigned to the plays.

10:00am Actors arrive and the rehearsals begin.

8:00pm Curtain!
