FSPA's SummerStage Presents YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, 8/16-17

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) SummerStage presents You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, 224 Oak Street, Franklin. An abbreviated production of the musical, featuring younger students, will be performed on August 17 at 5:00 p.m. SummerStage is a two-week theater program for students in grades 3-12 that culminates in all-student musical productions.

Based on the "Peanuts" comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown debuted in 1967 with book, music and lyrics by Clark M. Gesner. The award-winning musical comedy features the loveable Charlie Brown and his sidekicks Linus, Lucy, Snoopy and Woodstock and showcases such enduring musical numbers as "Happiness," "Suppertime" and the title song.

The SummerStage II cast (grades 8-12) featured in the full-length production includes Michael Egan of Hopkinton as Charlie Brown, Sasha Gardner of Sharon as Patty and Jenna McDermott of Wrentham as Woodstock, as well as Franklin students Brian Barker as Linus, Giovanna Ferri as Lucy, Ali Funkhouser as Snoopy, Graham Hancock as Schroeder and Melissa Mandia as Sally.

The SummerStage I cast (grades 3-8) features Andrew Kasper of Walpole as Charlie Brown, Jack Mullen of Millis as Linus, Anneka Ignatius of Wrentham as Sally, as well as Franklin residents Mia Fleischer as Woodstock, Alexa Katsaros as Lucy, Gary Mandia as Schroeder, Michaela Olah as Patty, Stephanie Schiavo as Marcy and Lauren Szczepanowski as Snoopy.

Students cast in the SummerStage I ensemble include Marissa Canesi, Morgan Fitzpatrick, Brooke Harrison, Ellie Jerrier, Valerie Kilroy, Hannah Rezendes, Madison Rezendes, Caitlin Woodcock and Carley Woodcock of Franklin, Antonio Weissinger of Hopkinton, Elizabeth Geraci of Medfield, Elina Tavarez of Millis and Aidan Ignatius of Wrentham. The SummerStage II ensemble features Madi Asgeirsson, Hailey DeMello, Kendra Dombroski, Jocelyn Jones, Catherine LeClair, Marina Smoske, Katherine Waples and Hannah Winiker of Franklin, Brittany Fox of Hopedale, Alexandria Hassan of Hopkinton, Maddy Williams of Medway, Katie Gray of Milford, Cassandra Riva of Plainville and Katie Giusti of Upton.

Tickets for the full-length shows on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 are $18 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. For the abbreviated version on Friday at 5:00 p.m., tickets cost $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.
