Cotuit Center Holds Open Auditions For SYLVIA 5/30, 6/1 & 6/3

By:

Director John Williams will hold open auditions on May 30 at 11am-2pm, June 1 and June 3 from 7pm-10pm for A. R. Gurney's SYLVIA, a modern romantic comedy about a husband, a wife and his dog at Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Falmouth Road, Rte. 28 in Cotuit. Casting is available for 4 actors, male/female, ages 16+. Cast descriptions may be viewed online at www.cotuitcenterforthearts.org. Actors will be asked to read from the script and be prepared to move. Perusal copies of the script are available at the arts center.

More information may be obtained by calling 508-428-0669 or contacting Tara O'Keefe at tara@cotuitcenterforthearts.org or Patrick Pope at patrick@cotuitcenterforthearts.org. Production dates are scheduled for August 13-30, 2009.

Greg might have brought home a red sports car, but instead he's brought home Sylvia. Sylvia is the sassy, street-wise mutt he picked up in Central Park one afternoon when he wasn't at work. When he adoringly brings her home, his wife Kate is appalled. She doesn't want a dog, she wants freedom-their kids are at college and it's finally her turn. She resents Greg's infatuation almost as much as she resents the fact that, in Sylvia's eyes, Greg isn't just perfect, he's God.
