Chester Theatre Company in Partnership with Gateway Middle School present Don't Tread On Me! The Revolutionary Plays May 7 & 8, 2010

Five Great Plays, for less than a night out at the movies. Great family entertainment!

These are not your typical student plays.

The five zany, poignant, funny plays in DON'T TREAD ON ME! were written by sixth grade students at Gateway Regional Middle School, but are being produced by The Chester Theatre Company. So, professional actors, directors and designers team with student playwrights to bring their creative visions to life. The result is an absolutely unique brand of theatre that benefits from the innocence of youth and the experience of age.

DON'T TREAD ON ME! is an evening of five one act plays that features characters who are confronted by oppression (at least in their view of things). So, whether they're a panicked spider, an orphan in a post-apocalyptic world, or a polar bear on a shrinking ice floe, they pursue equal, just and fair treatment.

The range of material, the imagination, the humor and heart that characterize the work of these young playwrights never ceases to amaze. So, Come and be amazed! See for yourself what the kids of today are producing.

The Gateway Playwriting Project, which is now in its fifth year, is the recipient of the prestigious Champion of Arts Education Award from the Massachusetts Alliance Of Arts Educators.
