About Cape Rep's Production of Rough Crossing

Broadway bound playwrights Turai and Gal are sailing to New York for the debut of their new musical comedy. But the play is unfinished, beginning middle and end, and to further complicate matters, the composer tosses his music overboard and threatens to take the leap over the rail too. Tom Stoppard's wit at its best, Rough Crossing is as delightfully delirious as the art form it affectionately lampoons, with original music composed by André Previn.

We are excited to have actor/director Scott Ripley collaborating with a talented production team including scenic designer Robert R. Troie, costume designer Heather McDevitt Barton, lighting designer Susan Nicholson and props design by Susan Wasson and Melissa Becker.

The cast features Cape Rep favorites and returning Company members Art Devine, Cleo Zani, Liz Tancredi and Seton Brown and, making their Cape Rep debut, Lewis D. Wheeler and Nicholas Nudler.

Rough Crossing is presented with the generous support of Cove Road Real Estate and the Town Crier Motel. Cape Rep's 2016 Season is sponsored by Cape Air.

Cape Rep's 2016 season opened with My Name is Asher Lev by Aaron Posner,

adapted from the novel by Chaim Potok running May 5 through June 5 followed by the Tom Stoppard comedy Rough Crossing, June 23 through July 23. The Tony Award winning Hairspray The Broadway Musical plays from August 3 through September 3. The Woman in Black will haunt the stage from September 15 through October 16 and the season will close with Cape Cod premier of the Tony winning hit, Peter and the Starcatcher, playing from November 3 through December 4. Our Outdoor Theater Children's Show is A Year with Frog and Toad based on the books by Arnold Lobel which runs Tuesdays & Wednesdays, June 28 through August 31 along with Mary Wilson's popular Pitter Patter Puppets on Thursdays from July 7 through August 25.
