Berkshire Theatre Festival's STORIES Continues Despite Super Bowl, 2/6

By:

Stories for a Sunday Afternoon returns to the Unicorn Theatre at Berkshire Theatre Festival this Sunday, February 6 at 4pm. This week features three selections for those not caught in Super Bowl Fever or for those who need a unique Super Bowl warm-up.

The first is Raymond's Run by Toni Cade Bambara. Hazel Parker, a young black girl relates the events of two days in her life in which she prepares for and runs a race, during which she comes to a turning point in her relationship with her mentally challenged brother, Raymond. This touching tale has been seen as a ground-breaking initiation story.

The second is The Alder Fork-A Fishing Idyl, a short essay by Aldo Leopold from A Sand County Almanac, now an established environmental classic. The Alder Fork describes a fishing trip in June. A meditation and a guide for the fly fisherman after the elusive trout.

Last, a very funny story, Howard Lives! by Joseph Berman. The one and only Howard Cosell appears in several scenes and changes the lives of those he encounters. These surprising tales make one know that Elvis is not the only one who lives.

Berkshire Theatre Festival is located at 6 East Street, Stockbridge MA 01262. Join us this Sunday for complimentary coffee, tea, cookies and a delightful afternoon of Sports Stories. A $10 donation is suggested. Reservations can be made by contacting the BTF Box Office at (413) 298-5576 x33.
