Conceived by the Organic Theater Company of Chicago over 30 years ago, BLEACHER BUMS is a wacky, improvisational romp for eight loyal fans who gather in the famous right hand bleachers of Wrigley Field to cheer on their hapless Chicago Cubs. Produced in cities worldwide, BLEACHER BUMS has become a cult baseball classic for it is about American fans of all types everywhere. Someday their team is going to win the World Series in the final inning of the seventh game-Hope springs eternal! The action is fast paced and funny with delightful hometown characters full of insight, laughter, and loyalty. The audience actually participates in the game cheering; booing, eating hot dogs and singing "Take Me out to the Ball Game" during the 7th inning stretch. If you are a baseball fan or simply a fan of hope and eternal optimism, you will want to reserve your ticket now to see all the pitches in this production. Come to our "ballpark". You'll leave feeling like you've hit a home run.
PREPARATION: Actors should be prepared to: Read from the script, engage in improvisational exercises and dress to move.

ROLES:
MELODY - an attractive and serious sun-worshipper.
GREG - a gentle young man in his 20's, blind since birth
ZIG - a large man in his 50's, able to bellow and chew on a cigar simultaneously
DECKER- a successful, energetic businessman around 40 years old
RICHIE - in his 20's with disgusting personal habits and hygiene
MARVIN - a professional gambler, 30 or so
CHEERLEADER - a hyperactive teenage fanatic
ROSE - Zig's wife, 30 or so
THE KID - a little kid
THE GUARD - A big guy
THE ANNOUNCER - The Voice
