Anderman, Hogan et al. to Star in Berkshire's A DELICATE BALANCE 8/17-9/4
The Berkshire Theatre Festival has announced casting for its production of Edward Albee's A DELICATE BALANCE. The production will begin previews on August 17 and will open officially on August 21; it will then run until September 4.
The production, which will be directed by David Auburn, will feature Maureen Anderman (Agnes), Mia Barron (Julia), Mia Dillon (Edna), Keir Dullea (Harry), Lisa Emery (Claire), and Jonathan Hogan (Tobias).
The Berkshire Theatre Festival says of the play, "Agnes and Tobias, a 50-something couple, want nothing more than to be left alone. However, they are saddled with Agnes's alcoholic sister. When their daughter returns home as a result of her fourth divorce and their best friends seek asylum from some unnamed "fear", tensions fray and every relationship in the house threatens to fall apart. An examination of the intricate web we all create among our friends and family and how easily it can all fall apart, A Delicate Balance sings with Albee's trademark lyricism and insight. This Pulitzer Prize-winning piece is poignant, incisive, and funny."
