American Repertory Theater to Hold WILDSTYLE Benefit, 5/17
The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will hold a Dance Party Fundraiser, Wildstyle, to be held on Thursday, May 17 at OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge.
Wildstyle will be the latest fundraising event hosted by the A.R.T., following closely on the recent success of the theater’s annual Valentine gala. Wildstyle will have a competitive ticket price to encourage patronage by the theater’s young professional supporters. The party is to be held at A.R.T.’s club theater, OBERON, a destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square.
Graffiti street artist Percy 14e-Wright will transform OBERON’s walls and performance space, while musical beats will pulse courtesy of DJ Kon. Featured performers for the evening will be Boston’s well-known hip hop crew, The Floorlords, who will perform their History of Hip Hop and will interact with guests, providing dance lessons and participative dance experiences. Additional entertainment will be provided by local rappers and beat boxers. Local personality Kupah James is the emcee for the event.
The evening begins at 8:00 PM and includes entertainment, dessert, and dancing. There will also be an opportunity drawing of gift cards from local businesses.
Ticket prices start at $30, and include a drink vouchers for select beverages and dessert. A portion of certain ticket levels are tax-deductible. Full table sponsorship packages are also available.
Wildstyle liquor sponsors are Belvedere Vodka and Privateer Rum. Desserts are sponsored by Kickass Cupcakes. Newbury Comics is the Venue Sponsor of OBERON.
The Wildstyle Planning Committee includes Andrew Anderson, Shannon Brown, Hadley Douglas, Anna Fajkowski, Traci Farrel, Devin Hill, Travis McCready, and Laura Nichols.
