A friend mentioned there is a Swedish DVD of Chess out. Not the concert version, which I have but the actual show! Has anyone seen it? I can't seem to find any info anywhere. Also is it in English?

The DVD is of the much-revised Swedish production of Chess, which rewrote all the lyrics to the show and made substantial alterations to the characterizations and plot line. It is lacking much of the score you might be familiar with (particularly if you've seen the show live), and has several new numbers. It is only barely recognizable as Chess.

The DVD audio is exclusively in Swedish, with no subtitles for any language. While the DVD is region-free, it is only PAL encoded and will not play properly on NTSC televisions (the standard in the US).

I haven't seen the DVD - I have no method of playing it back. But yes, Tommy Körberg is in it. I'm familiar with the Swedish version because of the 2-disc cast recording released late last year.

I linked the Chess forum at Musicals.net below. There are lots of DVD discussions there.
