My apologies if this is covered in one of the other long-running POTO threads, but has anyone seen Jon Robyns and Holly-Anne Hull at Her Majesty's Theatre?

I saw Phantom recently (during its last week on Broadway), so I don't need to see it urgently. However, I'll be in London soon and am wondering if I should check them out.

Also, can someone either summarize how this production was downsized for the West End or point me to a list somewhere? I seem to recall that someone on BW posted a list of the main changes, but I can't find the thread now.

Many thanks!

I saw them both in May and thought they were quite good, her moreso than him if I remember correctly. But I remember really enjoying it having won the online lottery and sitting closer in the stalls than I’d ever sat for “Phantom” anywhere.

Holly-Anne Hull will be leaving the London production of Phantom on 29 July 2023. Starting 31 July, Lily Kerhoas will be the principal Christine Daae.

I haven't seen them specifically but have seen the revamped London production, and its actually up there among my fave versions that have been staged. Love the new chandelier, the horse (which is based on an actual statue on the Paris Opera's roof), etc. I truly thought the changes (minimal, honestly, much of it still looks and feel's like the original) worked beautifully. Look forward to seeing the London production again.

Thanks so much to all for responding!

tourboi (or anyone), does the chandelier still fall?

I'm asking because, last time at the Majestic, we sat directly under the chandelier and found it a bit disconcerting. If they still drop the chandelier, I think we might opt for something a bit farther back.

Shortly before the new London production opened, it appeared that the chandelier was not going to fall. However, they apparently figured out that this would perhaps be the most unforgivable of all the changes they'd made, and the falling chandelier was incorporated at the last minute.

It does fall, and quite a bit faster than Broadway's.

So slow, Helen Keller could have run from it with no problem.
