I have been lucky enough to enter and win the Wicked lottery during the tour in years past. Now one of my friends wants to go to an upcoming Wicked show on tour and I was telling him about the lottery and he wanted me to send him the info but I cant find it anywhere online. I was pretty sure Wicked always does a lottery but maybe that changed. Does anyone know where I can find info about it? He would like to enter to win tickets for one of the Jacksonville, FL shows. Thanks!
It may be up to the local promoter. Check with your local venue to see its plans. You might also look to see if Jacksonville offers rush tickets. SHN in San Francisco sells rush tickets through TodayTix.
I think Wicked is one of the few tours that has an in-person lottery required by the producers. And that it's always the "Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the theater will have their names placed in a lottery drum; 30 minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets." part.
There may be a digital one or some other form of rush depending on the theater, but I think they have to have the in person lottery.
