Any tips on where to find hidden gems and best deals in West End accommodation in June. I'm already booked in Travelodge Covent Garden...great deal but no sleep for 4 days...and I can cancel at 24hrs notice. Maybe its the best deal but would appreciate your thoughts and advice.

What do you mean? My parents have stayed at the Covent Garden travelodge many times and said it was ideal.

Another two you can get good deals on (travelodges) are in Southwark and Old Street. They are both quite new, and easily located to get into the West End Updated On: 5/5/12 at 06:32 PM

I prefer the travelodges at Southwark and Waterloo.

Have you checked out tunehotels.com. They are a newish budget chain, you can get really cheap rooms especially those without windows. I stayed at the one in Westminster in April and it was fine (Paid £40 a night). The rooms are very small though, they literally just fit a bed in them.

I guess it depends on what you consider a good deal pricewise (everyone's budget is different) and what level of luxury you want.

I've aways found Travelodge ridiculously expensive whenever I've tried to book a single room for myself (about £20 per night more than I normally pay). I usually stay at either The Ridgemount Hotel (great little B & B on Gower Street)http://www.ridgemounthotel.co.uk/
- £50 per night single room with Breakfast
or The County Hotel near Euston Station http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk/county
- £49 per night single room with breakfast.

We pretty much always used to stay in one of the cheap (but not always cheerful) B&B's around Victoria, but now as long as you plan well enough in advance Travelodge always seem to be the cheapest option, particularly if they have a sale on at the time, which the pretty much always do.

Stayed at The County once, never again. During breakfast staff patrolled the room like prison guards, i thought i was in a remake of prisoner cell block h!

LOL boybooshka - kinda know what you mean about the breakfast staff. But it's so cheap,I can overlook that. I couldn't afford to get to London as often as I do if I had to stay in a Travelodge. I've never found anything less than £65 a night for s single room at a travelodge in London(and that's without breakfast) any date I've tried - and I always book well in advance.

I find the Travelodge in Waterloo great - clean and modern and only a 10-15 minute walk up the road and across the bridge to Covent Garden.

My favourite too.So clean.I've actually got rooms there for £15 a night though it was just after Christmas. But if you aren't tied to Saturdays there are usually good deals though the stupid Olympics have made bargains over summer hard to find.

Travelodges booked during the sales are amazing value, I stayed at moorgate for 15 a night in jan and have had others for 25. The only one I didnt like was liverpool st.

Lastminute topsecret hotels often have the radissons by the british museum at 50-60 a night on the weekends, they're pretty lovely rooms for the price (most the topsecret hotels can be unmasked quite easily).
