"The Notebook" to become a musical  Jan 3 2019, 11:44:59 AM
Been a long time Ingrid fan and this has the potential to be really good Cannot wait to see what happens!
Door Number Three vs. What Baking Can Do  Apr 11 2017, 05:32:38 PM

"Personally it was my favorite song in the show for Jessie - I'll see Sara soon enough and maybe that will change."

I hope it doesn't! I LOVE What Baking Can Do and it was my favorite for Jessie as well. Sara sounds incredible and it's probably my favorite for her too. I would love to (even though it'll never happen) have a professional recording of Sara singing it/the show with the Broadway orchestrations.

Sara Bareilles in WAITRESS  Apr 1 2017, 12:22:09 AM

Still cannot believe how incredible Sara was. Vocally she hits this out of the park and I love how crystal clear her voice is. She deafly has more sass as Jenna but she also plays her   With a softer edge.  I can only imagine her acting will get stronger, and while she is no Jessie Mueller, she definitely holds this role as her own.   You can tell that this is a labor of love for her and it was such an enjoyable evening seeing her beam on stage. She is phenomenal and you w

Sara Bareilles in WAITRESS  Mar 31 2017, 09:30:29 PM

Agree with the above! I had no doubts she could nail the comedy of Jenna as she is a naturally charming, funny being but she truly is not a bad actress. Vocally, she's hitting it out of the theatre ? you could tell for all of 30 seconds she was nervous but she truly has let loose. One of my favorite parts was seeing her trying to hide a huge smile after Caitlin Houlahan finished "When He Sees Me." It must be magical to be on stage with this cast and seeing your work come to life

Jessie Mueller's Final WAITRESS Performance Set for March 26, 2017  Mar 27 2017, 06:15:55 PM

I was there and so thankful to have been. I've seen it twice before but she really gave it her all last night. In everything I've seen Jessie do, she makes you feel every emotion meant to be felt. You could tell at the top of the show she was emptional but she gave the most beautiful performance I've seen. She sounded incredible but her acting was even more incredible. Itll be hard for anyone to follow but I'm eager to see what Sara brings, as she wrote the material and feels

In her book, Sara mentions doing theater as a child but wanting to get involved as an adult. She auditioned for Cinderella in the Central Park production of Into the Woods and after auditioning realized she could not act as

Hamilton: The Mixtape (Remixes, Covers & Others)  Nov 3 2016, 11:17:45 PM

Was so excited when I saw Regina attached. I can only imagine how beautiful her and Ben's "Dear Theodora" will be. I was SUPER excited when I saw Ingrid Michelson attached <3 hands down my favorite singer and so I can't wait to hear her!

Listening to Kelly Clarkson's "It's Quiet Uptown" right now... in tears. BEAUTIFUL. absolutely beautiful.

Should I See Something Rotten or Waitress?  Nov 3 2016, 11:15:39 PM

Having seen both, I'd definitely recommend Waitress. The score is stronger and Jessie Mueller is NOT to be missed. at all.

Jenna Ushkowitz to Step in for Kimiko Glenn in WAITRESS  Oct 5 2016, 08:24:26 PM

Having seen both Kimiko and Jenna, I must say I prefer Kimiko. Vocally Jenna was cleaner but she brought almost no humor to the role. I really hope Kimiko returns. I'm at least glad she was in the OBC and on the recording so I can relive her performance. Personally, Jenna was too pedesrian for the role and did not bring any quirkiness the way Kimiko did.

FREAKY FRIDAY at Signature Theatre in DC  Oct 4 2016, 10:29:23 PM

freewilma "I've purchased student tickets a couple of times in the past year or so.  When I went to pick up the tickets I just pointed at the group of students and that worked fine.  they were all full-time college / high school students.  they were all prepared to show their id's if needed too.  But definitely there was no expectation of showing a transcript.  If you call the box office I'm sure they'd be happy to give you more info.  "

awesome, I have my ID and just didn't want to get up there and then not be prepared! seeing it Friday, can't wait!

FREAKY FRIDAY at Signature Theatre in DC  Oct 4 2016, 02:08:18 PM

Has anyone purchased student tickets recently? They state in all caps it's for FULL TIME students but do they verify this? I remember years ago I thought they required you to bring in a trascript but I don't see that as part of their website. do they only check your ID?

Awesome, thanks
Backpack during show?  Jul 23 2014, 10:39:41 AM
On my way to Long Island for a few days so I've only packed a standard sized backpack but it's completely full. It fits under my legs on the train so I don't see it being an issue fitting under my legs in a theatre but I'm seeing a show today with nowhere to drop it off. Will I be fine taking it into the theatre? Will they let you coat check it? I always worry too much haha thanks for any help

Would LOVE for this to happen! Especially with Lee Pace :)

Anyone see The Normal Heart first preview in DC last night?  Jun 25 2012, 11:06:36 AM
Saw it yesterday afternoon as well. Overall, everyone was really good. Didn't care for Christopher J. Hanke that much but thought everyone else was really solid. I saw it on Broadway as well and as much as I LOVE Lee Pace, he was really stiff. I agree, Nick is definitely an improvement. If you have the chance, go go go!
