Why wasn't Tommy a huge hit???  Aug 29 2011, 12:21:18 AM
Something doesn't need to run for years and years to be successful. If it affected people in some way or another, it succeeded its goal.

Just because a show runs for 10 years doesn't make it better than a show that ran a month.

Tommy is a wonderful and important piece of theater, Mamma Mia is an uninspired cashcow. (IMHO)

So who will play Fanny?  Jul 11 2011, 12:51:34 PM
2 of my friends, who are virtually unknown, have been called in for work sessions. It seems they actually are going to cast an unknown (the way it should be, since it made Barbra such a star).
Anne Hathaway for Eponine for movie of Les Miz  Mar 2 2011, 08:09:50 AM
Her voice is so shaky and simply not strong. She is far too old for Eponine and doesn't have the vulnerability to play Fantine, never mind the vocal chops. I really hope she is not in the film.
Why did they decide not to dub Pierce Brosnan's singing in MAMMA MIA?  Jan 5 2011, 06:18:39 PM
DId they want Cher for Donna or Tanya? Personally I think she would've been better suited to play Tanya. Christine Baranski was great, though.
Question about '02 revival of OKLAHOMA!  Jan 5 2011, 01:05:08 PM
I wholeheartedly loved this production.
How Would You Fix Your Favorite Flop?  Dec 25 2010, 02:06:18 PM
^ I don't know, The Fix has one of the most unmemorable scores I have ever heard (can't recall a single tune) and it doesn't really make sense that it's that easy to make someone President (I'm sure it's not meant to be taken seriously, but it doesn't present itself as a satire). It tried to be serious which doesn't work. To me, this show is simply unfixable.
Carrie Fisher's 'Wishful Drinking' debuts on HBO Dec. 12, 9PM  Dec 15 2010, 12:56:06 AM
I didn't get a chance to see this live and was extremely excited to see it on HBO. I was thoroughly underwelmed. The show had hardly anything to do with her addiction struggles or even the reasons behind them. I was constantly waiting for her to tell a crazy story involving her addiction and it never happened. Sure it was funny, just not what it could have been...
Musicals That Never Made It To Broadway  Dec 13 2010, 02:43:33 AM
Whatever happened to "Rebecca"?

Another goddamn British import?  Jul 30 2010, 05:22:11 PM
Those are 3 very big names (2 of them being Oscar winners). I don't see a reason why this production shouldn't be given an oppurtunity to open in New York.

Jordin Sparks IN THE HEIGHTS Ad  Jul 29 2010, 05:32:55 PM
i forgot about that video of her singing breathe. She sounds fine, nothing special... but her acting is ATROCIOUS (at least in this video).

The ad is horrible.

Weird things you've said to Broadway stars  Jul 26 2010, 11:25:44 PM
This past November, I met Bernadette Peters at Next to Normal and told her "You are my everything... MYFRIENDWASINANNIEGETYOURGUNWITHYOUANDYOUGUYSGETDINNERSOMETIMESYOUKNOW****THAT'SMYFRIEND!".

Very embarassing, but she was very nice.

Stokes, LuPone, Scott & More to Star in WOMEN ON THE VERGE  Jul 26 2010, 03:22:35 PM
Very excited, but disappointed that Biel won't be doing this.
Will we ever see SARA RAMERIZ back on Bway?  Jul 25 2010, 12:48:45 PM
I think she is going to do Grey's until it ends or until she gets written off. Grey's is a very good gig and Broadway will be there for her when she is done filming.

LOVE Sara Ramirez though, just throwing that out there.

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC'S Reopening Tonight  Jul 25 2010, 12:44:51 PM
I didn't hate Bernadette in the role, but I did think a lot of it seemed very phony. Desiree can be very phony at times, but it has to have heart at the root of the performance and that seemed to be missing. When she flubbed a line in Send in the Clowns I really did not mind and was touched by her performance at that point.

Michael Bennett, I still love Elaine Stritch and her body of her work. I simply do not think that she is doing the job she was hired to do. Liasons dragged on for w

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC'S Reopening Tonight  Jul 25 2010, 03:49:28 AM
I am prefacing this by saying that I love A Little Night Music, Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch.

I saw the show Friday night and was SO disappointed. I don't know what the hell people are saying (Michael Bennett, I am looking at you) but Elaine Stritch still did not know her lines. Liasons was overwelmingly long due to her lack of readiness to be on that stage. She does not know her lines and therefore should not be onstage. I understand that she is in her 80s and a legend but it i

South Pacific Movie Dream Casting  Jul 8 2010, 04:25:17 PM
Anne Hathaway is NOT Nellie. She always has a quirky side in whatever she does and that wouldn't work for Nellie. Oh and I don't think she has the voice for Nellie.

Reese or Scarlett would be great

Favortie line from any Broadway Show  Jul 7 2010, 04:03:45 PM
