I didn't see the previous versions –– is the Baroness a great part? I know she's been played by Rachel Tucker and Jacquelyn Ritz.

There was a gorgeous song for her toward the end of act 2 in Williamstown. I’m not sure if it made it to La Jolla

"I'd Like Him to Remember Me" survived the La Jolla rewrites although the surrounding sce

"It's Only Human" sounds exactly like "The Writing's on the Wall" from Rudolf!

New Musical in Germany - Miracle of Bern  Nov 26 2014, 11:09:32 AM
Thanks for sharing - I was in Hamburg about a year and a half ago while they were still building the theater and hadn't even announced the show they were going to put up in it.

I wish it luck and can't wait to go back and see it - it sounds intriguing!

re: Side Show Previews  Nov 5 2014, 01:44:00 PM
Haterobics - in response to your question on changes during previews - I was at the first preview and then last night - and nothing has changed aside from one or two technical changes that have just been tightened.

I believe they are just going to keep working on timing during the remaining to weeks of previews.

Personally - I love this version of the show. I saw it in DC and thought it was an extremely strong revision. There were two revisions since DC that kind of "grind my g

ITW Film: Characters Renamed to Disney Counterparts?  Sep 17 2014, 06:44:11 PM
This just seems amiss - why would they rename Rapunzel's Prince to Flynn Rider but not Florinda and Lucinda to Drizella and Anastasia?
If/Then No Idina  Aug 29 2014, 10:39:22 AM
Jackie Burns was on last night.

I was in the orchestra - so don't know how many seats in the mezz were empty, but it wasn't a huge section of people missing in the orchestra last night.

What are the chances of THE VISIT transferring?  Aug 1 2014, 10:31:26 AM
I would love to see this production, as I have never seen/heard any of Kander and Ebb's score.

I was able to catch the Austrian production that opened earlier this year starring Pia Douwes and Uwe Kroger. I know it's not the Kander and Ebb score, but the story was terribly fun!

Hopefully I can head up to Williamstown so that I can see Chita, Judy Kuhn, and company!!

(If I do, I'll give a little review on the differences between the two ways of telling the same story!)

Les Mis set to be highest grossing movie musical of all time.  Feb 4 2013, 06:51:04 PM
It's doing great and you can't deny that these are great numbers in only 6 weekends as opposed to the 36 weekends that Chicago was in release to get in to the $170's.

Sorry, don't know the answer Quiche!

The performance at Carnegie Hall was badly off tempo for most of the song! I heard that Betty didn't want it on the recording because of how off it was.
Book of Mormon - Boston  Aug 19 2012, 11:10:01 AM
They'll go on sale sometime in December!
Theatre in Germany  Jul 5 2012, 11:42:08 PM
I absolutely loved Hinterm Horizont which is playing at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin!! It's a beautiful piece about a rocker from the west falling in love with a girl from East Berlin using the songs of Udo Lindenberg! It's also super powerful considering the Berlin Wall used to go right through where the theater sits now.

Most Stage Entertainment productions are very well done and totally worth it!

There's also a fantastic outdoor theater in Berlin that does cl

GHOST new playbill cover  Jun 28 2012, 01:41:09 AM
At least it's Caissie and Richard and not just the stock couple from the marquee.
My B--Jill Paice will star as I in REBECCA  Jun 20 2012, 12:05:49 PM
I much prefer Jill Paice to Sierra Boggess especially in this role!

Sierra is good and all but Jill's voice fits much better in this role.

Ryan Silverman is way too young for Maxim but whatever - I'm really getting excited for this show.

I'm really hoping for the best - I loved the Viennese and German productions.

LOVE NEVER DIES on PBS tonight?? Where?  Jun 3 2012, 11:37:43 PM
The London Recording was a studio recording with a primarily studio cast. Once Joseph Millson was cast, they re-recorded the part with him over John Barrowman who originally recorded the part. Thus they have the three leads who opened the show!

It was a complete recording of what Lloyd Webber saw as a final product before it went into rehearsals or performance.

There were some significant differences between what was on the album and what ended up on the Adelphi stage e

LOVE NEVER DIES on PBS tonight?? Where?  Jun 2 2012, 04:15:31 PM
The entr'acte is gone - they wanted it to be seen more as a "film" than a filmed show. And a few transitions are also gone. (Set changes and musical passages - no actual lyrics or songs cut)

New Poll: Which Broadway Flop Would You Like to See Get a Second Chance?  Mar 3 2012, 01:53:42 PM
OOOH!!! Dance of the Vampires - done right this time!! Bring over the German production with a proper translation!! It's a gothic thriller with comic moments!!!
