How have you been listening to it on repeat? Do you mean the 3 songs released?

I will never understand the ire this board had and continues to have forWater for Elephantsandits positive critical reception. It's not like Green was the only person who liked it; they got only one negative review. People like it. Why

Review: In ‘The Outsiders,’ a New Song for the Young Misfits

The classic coming-of-age novel has become a compelling, if imperfect, musical about have-not teenagers in a have-it-all world.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/11/theater/review-outsiders-musical.html

"It’s a strange paradox of Broadway that its bigness, when used humbly, can honor quite delicate ideas. Whether it can sustain them is another story. In “The Outsiders,” they are not sustained; the structural problems mean its achievements don’t stick. But they’re still achievements, and a show need not be for the ages to be for the moment. In that sense it’s fair, citing Frost, to call it golden — nature’s “hardest hue to hold.”"
"

The structural problems were my biggest nit as well but I still enjoyed the show overall.

A little borrowing from the headline of Jesse's NYT review for The Notebook.

Well this writer sure invested a lot in his review.

Why is the sound mixing on the highlights video so muffled? It does it a huge disservice to how incredible those songs sound.

For some reason, I think it's going to draw more positives than mixed, but will not be a NYT critics' pick leaving us all to wonder how Water for Elephants was.

This looks incredible actually.

THE OUTSIDERS Broadway Previews  Apr 7 2024, 09:48:51 AM

I'm curious if anyone who saw this earlier in previews has seen it again recently and if significant changes have been made? I'm going to try to come back later this spring and might see it again. Prioritizing other shows first, but if there's time I really did enjoy this on first preview though it needed some tweaking and cutting.

Where Are You, Dollypop?  Apr 2 2024, 10:29:46 AM

Dolly just reached out to me on Facebook:

"Just letting you know I'm fine and dandy. I'm also very busy. I was asked to temporarily take over managing our church's thrift shop and it's lots of work. That's why I haven't been on BWW for a while. You may share this with the group."

John is a class act.

Hate to see both of these gentlemen go through what they had to go through.

Yet, Water for Elephants was a Critics' Pick. Make it make sense.

I do think in this case, the show's circus appeal combined with the reviews will help sell tickets.

Follies would be great. Mandy Patinkin as Ben Stone please.

And how Did They Like It grade some of these reviews as mixed when they are VERY clearly negative? This whole thing makes me feel like I've watched through the looking

From what I understand, they made improvements in leaps and bounds throughout the preview, so I guess it depends when you saw it.
