Alberta "Pearl" Johnson is in a Texas prison in 1933. She has "a father in Hell, a mother in Heaven, and a daughter in Houston." But she's not in Houston, and no one knows where she is. Can Pearl use the disappearing songs of her youth to sing her way out of prison and find her daughter?
