The Wetumpka Depot Players are wrapping up their 32nd season with a sold out run world premiere of Pamela Parker's play A Very Second Samuel Christmas. Due to audience demand, one additional performance has been added on December 16 at 7:30pm.

The Wetumpka Depot Players are wrapping up their 32nd season with the world premiere of Pamela Parker's play A Very Second Samuel Christmas. The occasion will be a Christmas miracle of sorts as Parker resisted writing a Second Samuel sequel for many years. "People have asked me to write a Christmas play featuring the characters of Second Samuel, but I told them it would never happen. Then the folks at the Wetumpka Depot asked. Who could say no to them?" said Parker referring to the Wetumpka troupe who traveled Second Samuel to a nationwide theatre festival in 2011.

This Holiday Season, the Whole Backstage Theatre of Guntersville is pleased to present "White Christmas". "Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace (Joe Whitaker of Huntsville, AL) and Phil Davis (Will Casey of Birmingham/formerly of Albertville, AL) have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters (Melissa Blackburn and Sharon Glenn both of Guntersville, AL) en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander (Phil Kelley of Guntersville, AL)." - Rogers and Hammerstein website for "White Christmas."

An ambitious 'song collector,' for the Library of Congress, Susannah Mullally (Nancy Malone), is searching for undiscovered folk music with African-American roots in the prisons of Texas. Her best hope may be found in Alberta 'Pearl' Johnson (Donna Thornton), who has been imprisoned for 10 years for killing a man.
