The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre, the only theatre of its kind in the area - offering lunch matinee shows geared for children and their families, continues its fifteenth year of bringing children's stories to life with the classic tale of Charlotte's Web. Adapted from E.B. White's award-winning children's novel, Charlotte's Web tells the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. When Wilbur is in danger of being sent away by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages praising Wilbur in her web in order to persuade the farmer to save him. A touching tale of loyalty and sacrifice between friends, Charlotte's Web, a popular part of The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre Collection, returns to the theater August 21st and runs through November 7th.

The cast of Way Off Broadway's Charlotte's Web includes Gary Bernard DiNardo as Wilbur, Kelly Nealon as Fern, Jordan Stocksdale as Templeton, Bill Kiska as Mr. Zuckerman, and Tina M. Bruley as Mrs. Arable and the voice of Charlotte. The story was adapted for the stage and is directed by Susan Thornton with music by Cathie Porter-Borden and lyrics by Leon Borden.

Charlotte's Web runs from August 21 - November 7, with performances every Saturday afternoon and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Select added weekday performances are also available for school groups throughout the run. Tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased by contacting the Box office at (301) 662-6600.

Over the years, Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre has brought countless children's fairytales to the stage, turning each one into a fast-paced, family-friendly, original musical adaptation. From Snow White to the Three Little Pigs, Sleeping Beauty to Jack and the Beanstalk, all of the most memorable characters have appeared on the WOB stage. Making the experience even more unique however, is the fact that a lunch is also served to the audience with the characters from the production doubling as the servers.
