The Laurel Mill Playhouse (LMP) will present Said and Meant: Ten Short Plays About Language and Misunderstanding written by Randy Wyatt and produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com) on Sat., Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. The performance will reprise the newly formed Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) Drama Club's inaugural production presented at the John Hopkins University/APL's Kossiakoff Center in August.

A witty take on how people use and misuse language, Said and Meant presents ten sudden, fast-paced vignettes that explore the dangers of words and intentions gone awry. Incredulous and at times disturbing, the show serves up psychologically edgy social commentary that resonates through hilarious human absurdity. Directed by Patti Restivo of the APL Drama Club and produced by Maureen Rogers of LMP, the play will be performed by the APL Drama Club's troupe of actors.

LMP showcased two of the ten vignettes that will be presented in their September One-Act Festival and is producing Said and Meant in its entirety during the closing weekend of American Way on Oct. 23. The curtain rises at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission. For reservations for Said and Meant, please call Maureen Rogers at (301) 452-2557 or e-mail Patti Restivo at prestivo@comcast.net. For more information about the APL Drama Club, e-mail Lynn Reggia at Lynn.Reggia@jhuapl.edu. For more information about LMP, visit www.laurelmillplayhouse.org. LMP is located at 508 Main Street, Laurel, MD 20707.
