TWELVE ANGRY MEN Opens At Dundalk Community Theatre 2/25-3/6

Dundalk Community Theatre continues its 2010/11 season with Reginald Rose's stage version of Twelve Angry Men from February 25th - March 6th. Individual tickets are $22 for adults, $19 for senior adults and $14 for students/DCT Actors/Children 12 and under. Great theatre begins with a great script from a talented writer. Twelve Angry Men is a prime example of a teleplay script which was later enhanced to a movie script and 50 years later a Broadway play. With a story that still rings true for anyone who has ever had to serve on a jury, The American Film Institute recognized the 1957 movie version in its list of Top 100 films ever made. Director Tom Wyatt brings this story to life at DCT, with a slight twist. It has been set in 1981 during the Reagan Administration.

The drama begins after a homicide case has just concluded its closing arguments. The jurors are instructed that they must come up with a unanimous verdict; otherwise the case could result in a mistrial. As the story begins one of the jurors has doubt that the prosecution presented a case beyond a reasonable doubt. However, the other eleven are ready to vote guilty. Since a guilty verdict automatically leads to a mandatory death sentence, the lone juror stands his ground. He combats the others prejudices to guarantee everyone has considered all the facts and gives the young man a fair trial. Tempers flair and the truth comes out.

Director Tom Wyatt has gathered an intense cast: Christopher A. Bagley, Albert J. Boeren, John W. Ford, Jeff Burch, Dave Minges, Bob Sullivan, Thom Eric Sinn, Roger Schulman, Edd Miller, Denis Latkowski, Julio Fernandez, and Allan Herlinger

Dundalk Community Theatre is a program of the college, providing high-quality live theatre experiences for the entire family at affordable prices. Tom Colonna, a veteran actor and director, serves as the Managing Director for DCT. DCT is in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Dundalk , 7200 Sollers Point Road .

Cast Bios:

Christopher A. Bagley (Juror #1/ Foreman) makes his DCT debut in Twelve Angry Men. Returning to the Baltimore stage after a twenty year absence, he recently appeared as Hoke in a Virginia production of Driving Miss Daisy. Last year he directed and musically directed a production of Pajama Game and still lists Nick in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf as his favorite acting role and The Bald Soprano as his favorite directing experience. Away from the stage, Christopher serves as Director of Music at St. John Lutheran Church in Linthicum.

Albert J. Boeren (Juror #2) returns to the DCT stage after appearing in last season's production of Annie. He was most recently the stage manager for the DCT production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Other recent area credits include Curtains and Singing in the Rain with Cockpit in Court Theatre, Carousel with BAT, and Barnum with Rising Star productions. Albert has also directed for Pasadena Theatre Company, Merrick 's Dinner Theatre, Baltimore Playwrights Festival and Matthew Players among others. He currently works for Baltimore County Schools.

John W. Ford (Juror #3) is thrilled to be back at DCT among so many talented colleagues. Baltimore audiences may remember him in Torch Song Trilogy (Arnold), Chess (Walter), Rumors (Glenn), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Pseudolus), The Full Monty (Dave), and Pack of Lies (Stewart). John received his degree in Acting and Directing from Towson University , where he was the Associate Producer of the Maryland Arts Festival from 1991 until 2001.

Jeff Burch (Juror #4) - is happy to be back at DCT after last appearing here in Beauty and the Beast. Productions this past year include Curtains at Cockpit in Court, Follies at Theatre Hopkins, Sweeney Todd at Vagabonds and the BSO Holiday Spectacular. Locally, Jeff has been featured in productions of Ragtime, Listen to My Heart, Forever Plaid, Crazy for You, She Loves Me, Anything Goes, Oklahoma, 42nd Street, Parade, and The Full Monty, just to name a few.

Dave Minges (Juror #5) makes his DCT debut in Twelve Angry Men. Some of his favorite productions include Pagent for Spotlighters Theatre and Towsontown Dinner Theatre, The World Goes Round, A Chorus Line, It's A Grand Night For Singing, for The Maryland Arts Festival, Falsettos for The Vagabond Players, Our Country's Good for Fells Point Corner Theater and Follies for Theatre Harrisburg. Dave has studied voice for over sixteen years and acting with Vivienne Shub at Towson University and Bruce Nelson at Everyman Theater.

Bob Sullivan (Juror #6) is thrilled to be making his first appearance at DCT after a long hiatus from the stage. He has previously been seen in productions of Jekyll and Hyde, Cabaret, Waiting for Godot, Annie, and The Music Man. He pays the bills (and keeps the left hemisphere of his brain happy) as an Oracle database engineer.

Thom Eric Sinn (Juror #7) Returning to the DCT stage but this time with his clothes on (thank goodness),Thom enjoyed his role as Harold in The Full Monty. Other stage roles include Pierre de Fermat in Partition and Sam Byck in Assassins at Spotlighter's Theatre, Officer Barrel in Urinetown at Cockpit in Court Theatre, The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, and Warnock Waldgrave in The Nerd. Most weekends you will find Thom at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament portraying King Phillipe or the Lord Chancellor, Sir Thomas of Taladaga.
Roger Schulman (Juror #8) is happy to be back on stage at DCT after portraying Vice-Principal Douglas Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. DCT audiences know Roger for his lead roles in productions of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas , Annie Get Your Gun, and Anything Goes. Other favorite local productions include, Crazy for You, Chicago , and Guys and Dolls.
Edd Miller (Juror #9) is appearing with DCT for the first time in Twelve Angry Men. Acting and directing credits include; Last of the Red Hot ZLovers, Moon for the Misbegotten, Over The River and Through the Woords, Three Penny Opera, Can Can, Carnival, I never Sang For My Father, Plaza Suite, The Apple Tree,and Carnival. He currently works with The Colonial Players of Annapolis. As an actor, director, set designer, he recently finished a production of The Diviners. Away from the stage he is a retired buyer for a large furniture chain and an interior designer.

Denis Latkowski (Juror #10) is pleased to be making his first appearance with DCT. Other stage credits include: The Cocktail Hour at Vagabonds; Born Yesterday, The Biograph Girl, Witness for the Prosecution and Dr. Cook's Garden at Greenbelt Arts Center; Moon Over Buffalo with Heritage Players; On Golden Pond, Mousetrap, Mary, Mary, Veronica's Room, The Night of the Iguana, Ebenezer and Eat the Runt at Spotlighter's; Daddy's Dyin...Who's Got the Will, Murder on the Nile, The Music Man, and The Sound of Music at Cockpit in Court and You Can't Take It With You and And Then There Were None at Laurel Mill Playhouse.

Julio Fernandez (Juror #11) is very happy to make his DCT debut in Twelve Angry Man. Previous roles include portraying Eli Whitney in The Cotton Gin and John the Baptist and St. in A Passion Play. He plans to continue studying acting, and hopes to work professionally in both theatre and film. He also enjoys working behind the scenes, helping prepare shows for production. Outside of theatre, he is very active playing ice hockey, soccer and lacrosse.

Allan Herlinger (Juror #12) returns to DCT after appearing in Inherit The Wind. Other favorite acting roles include Rick Steadman in The Nerd, and Moonface Martin in Anything Goes. Favorite directing projects include: The Diary of Anne Frank (International Thespian Festival) The Sound of Music, Steel Magnolias and Evita. Allan looks forward to performing with his family in the upcoming DCT production of Cinderella.

Tom Wyatt (Director) returns to DCT after directing productions of Annie, Crazy For You, Little Shop of Horrors and Dames At Sea, as well as the choreography for Something's Afoot and City of Angels . Directing projects include productions of Curtains, Into The Woods, Oklahoma , 42nd Street and BIG - The musical for Cockpit in Court Theatre and Listen to My Heart for The Vagabond Players. Local acting credits include A Few Good Men at DCT, Royal Gambit and Enchanted April, at The Vagabond Players .
Tom is grateful to DCT for the opportunity to stage such a well- known classic as Twelve Angry Men.

Marc W. Smith (Scenic/Lighting/Designer/Technical Director) has been involved in over 200 productions in the past 30 years. A graduate of Towson University with a B.A. and M.F.A. in Theatre Production, Marc's scenic and lighting designs and technical achievements have won him awards from the USITT. In addition, Marc's scenic and lighting designs for A Little Night Music, The Cemetery Club and Bus Stop have been displayed in juried expositions. In 2005 his scenic and lighting designs for the CCBC Es­sex production of Zombie Prom were part of the finalists in the Region II Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

James J. Fasching (Costume Designer) returns to DCT after designing or coordinat­ed the costumes for productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Taffetas, Altar Boyz, Annie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Full Monty, The Little Foxes, Annie Get Your Gun, Other People's Money, Jekyll and Hyde, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, 1776, 42nd Street, Romance, Romance, I Do, I Do and numerous others. He is the resident costumer at CCBC Essex.

John Suchy (Sound Designer) returns to DCT again this season after designing the sound for our 2010 season. On the other side of the DCT stage, audiences know John as performing the role of Senex in A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to the Forum. Other stage credits include, High Society at Cockpit in Court Theatre, The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Vagabonds Theatre and Oliver! at Phoenix Festival Theatre. Away from the stage John teaches sound design and recording at the Baltimore School For The Arts and at CCBC.

Amy Vickers (Props Manager) is always happy to return to DCT to work with this group of talented, artistic people. Over the years she has been involved with everything from Stage Management to Props to Spot Operator to Back Stage Floor Manager. Away from backstage, Amy works for Towson University and is most proud of being Mommy to her son Timothy.
