Three Days of Rain is a play that plays with time. We all wish to unravel the mysteries of our origins and find the connections that made us the way we are today. Richard Greenberg, in his brilliantly constructed play, seizes our desire to revisit the past, trace the choices taken by the previous generation. Greenberg has a boundless imagination, manifesting itself in more than 25 plays with the Tony Award winner Take Me Out as one of his most well known. His humor and intellect have been compared to Noel Coward, Phillip Barry and Tom Stoppard. Three Days of Rain seamlessly weaves wit and wrenching emotion. The artfully mirrors those traits set in the sarcastic and self-absorbed 1990's and the innocent hopefulness of the 1960's. Written in 1997, Three Days of Rain (the title comes from a poem by W.S. Merwin "For the Anniversary of My Death"), a finalist for the 1998 Pulitzer Prize, has captured the attention of a roster of acclaimed actors: Patricia Clarkson, Bradley Whitford, John Slattery, Colin Firth, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth McGovern and James McAvoy. Greenberg offers actors and audiences the challenge and delight of seeing the three actors in the play portray the parents and the children and uncover romance and mystery.

The first act opens a year after he disappeared on the day of his father's funeral, Walker Janeway (Ryan Manning) returns to New York temporarily living in the unused space where thirty-five years earlier, his father, Ned, and Ned's late partner, Theo, both architects, lived and designed the great house that would make them famous. Walker scours the old empty space for clues, evidence or keys to the tortured family history. Discovering his father's journal hidden under the bed, he finds it as unforthcoming as his nearly silent father had been. Walker's sister Nan (Lizzi Albert), and childhood friend, Pip (Jeff McDermott), Theo's son, join him to hear the reading of Ned's will. It is there that Walker forces the confrontation that the others need. After an evening of revelations, Walker disappears once more. This time he returns later that evening with a surprising solution to the family puzzle. The second act travels back to 1960 and introduces Walker's and Nan's father Ned (Ryan Manning) and mother Lena (Lizzi Albert) and Pip's father Theo (Jeff McDermott) where the true story of the family is revealed. Three Days of Rain is a romantic mystery not to be missed.

The production team includes Leta Hall (Assistant Director), Kristin Skolnick (Stage Manager), Mary Seng (Set Design), Ed Moser (Sound Design), Bob Scott (Light Design), Mary Dalto (Props), Mike Smith (Set Dressing), Crystal Fergusson (Costumes) and Nicole Jaja (Master Carpenter).

The Stage's 2010-2011 season concludes with the exciting One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Jun. 24-July 23).
