STAGE TUBE: Sneak Peek at Red Branch Theatre's TICK, TICK... BOOM!

Tick, tick... BOOM!, a rock musical, is an autobiographical tale of a young composer on the brink of turning 30 and falling into oblivion. Red Branch Theatre Company presents the show now through October 13, 2013. Click below to watch highlights from the show!

Three actors portray ten characters through fourteen songs to take the audience on the playwright/composer's journey that ignited an interest in Jonathan Larson's work and ultimately led to Broadway sensation, RENT. Larson originally began performing the piece as a solo work in 1990. Following his death in 1996, playwright David Auburn revised the work and adapted it for three actors. It opened Off-Broadway in 2001.

Red Branch Theatre Company's production of Tick, tick... BOOM! features both familiar faces and new talent. Starring as Jon, the character modeled after Jonathan Larson, is Patrick Prebula of Gaithersburg. Patrick was most recently the male understudy for Red Branch's [title of show] earlier this season. Tick, tick... BOOM! marks his first time on the Red Branch stage. Red Branch Company Member Cory Jones of Stevensville plays Michael and various others. He was most recently featured as a Bad Idea Bear in last season's production of Avenue Q, and served as lighting designer for this season's production of [title of show]. Finally, Eben K. Logan of Rockville plays Susan and various others. She is completely new to the organization, and this production marks her Red Branch debut. Jennifer Spieler directs and Wil Lewis, III music directs the approaching show. Ms. Spieler's previous Red Branch credits include Proof,Pinocchio, Web of Deceit (in conjunction with the Baltimore Playwrights' Festival) and Hansel and Gretel. Mr. Lewis most recently music directed Red Branch'sNext to Normal, and was featured as Gary Coleman in last season's Avenue Q.

Tick, tick... BOOM! is presented with permission through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Individual tickets are now available for purchase online at www.redbranchtheatrecompany.com or by calling the box office at (410) 997-9352. Tickets are $18/$19 in advance, or $20 at the door.
