Rep Stage Continues Season with Annie Baker's CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION Tonight

By:

Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 22nd season with Annie Baker's "Circle Mirror Transformation," directed by Suzanne Beal, Rep Stage's co-producing artistic director. When a group of small town residents enrolled in a community center drama class begin to experiment with seemingly harmless theatre games, hearts are quietly torn apart and tiny wars of epic proportions are waged and won. Love triangles, family troubles and personal triumphs abound in Baker's critically acclaimed play, hailed by The New York Times as "absorbing, unblinking and sharply funny." Baker's hilarious and quirky comedy was named one of the Top Ten Plays of 2009-10 by The New York Times, The New Yorker and Time Out New York, and received an Obie Award as well as awards for Best New American Play, Best Ensemble Performance and Best Direction. The premiere production was extended twice at Playwrights Horizons and brought back for a return engagement. Baker was most recently honored with the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play "The Flick."

"Circle Mirror Transformation" opens tonight, March 4, 2015, with a limited run through March 22 in the Studio Theatre of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA) on the campus of HCC. For tickets and additional information, visit www.repstage.org or call the box office at 443-518-1500.
