Casting has been announced for Centerstage's revival of the musical THE WIZ, which will open on September 29 and run through November 7. The production will be directed by Irene Lewis, with choreography by Willie Rosario and musical direction by Eric Svejcar.

THE WIZ will star Kristen Dowtin as Dorothy, and feature Kingsley Leggs, Angela Robinson, Wayne W. Pretlow, Gwen Stewart, Mel Johnson, Jr, Eric B. Anthony, Jonathan Burke, Tym Byerz, Manoly Farrell, LaTrisa A. Harper, Daisy Hobbs, Alison Mixon, Mashawn Morton, and Alfie Parker.

Follow Dorothy and her friends as they ease on down the Yellow Brick Road, match wits with the Wiz, confront Evillene and her menacing monkeys, and awaken Oz to a brand new day. This funky musical adaptation of L. Frank Baum's beloved classic explodes onstage with a vibrant infusion of '70s rock and Motown melodies.

The company's season also includes THE HOMECOMING, SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS, CRIME AND PUNISHMENT and THE SANTALAND DIARIES.
