Glass Mind's ADAPTING CINDERELLA Closes

By:

Glass Mind has announced a production of ADAPTING CINDERELLA at the LOF/t, 120 W. North Ave., through March 25.

The show is a devised journey through cultural retellings of the famous tale. Multiple variations of the fairy tale will be interwoven into one person's journey to find the key to a true, free identity.

Adapting Cinderella uses completely original dance, text and music to explore the idea self and the idealism of love. The piece developed through discussing the "Disney-fication" of fairy tales.

Glass Mind Artistic Director, Andrew Peters, will direct an ensemble of eleven.

"The Glass Mind ensemble is - at its core - inspired by fairy tales, fables, and myths. Our goal in this project has been to crack open one particular tale and see what makes it resonate so much with the human spirit," says Peters. "We've focused on a few variations of the tale and developed a brand new tale that follows one person's personal journey We're excited to deconstruct the 'Cinderella Story' and ask you the question, 'Who's Your Prince?'

Adapting Cinderella features movement and fight choreography by cast member and the company's Associate Artistic Director, Sarah Ford Gorman, and original tunes by musician, Quinn S.

Adapting Cinderella runs through March 25, 2012 at the LOF/t (120 W. North Ave.), on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $12 general admission, and $8 for students, seniors and artists.
