Drama Learning Center will hold its 2012 Summer Camp for students in Baltimore City beginning Monday, July 9. Since Drama Learning Center provides a place for young people to have some summer fun as they learn drama skills, perform on a musical stage, and work as a theatrical team, I wondered if you might consider doing a brief story on the program and how it is helping young people keep busy while gaining such skills as stage directions, improvisation, pantomime, emotions, and character. The Camp – to be held at the Maryland State Boyschoir (3400 Norman Avenue just east of Lake Montebello in Northeast Baltimore) – will feature six week-long production, including Aladdin, Glee, and Best of Broadway.

At Drama Learning Center, our goal is to provide our students with the guidance and training needed to gain self-confidence, self-expression, a sense of commitment, and a love for the arts.

DLC offers a variety of programs that appeal to people of different ages and interests. Young children are introduced to the performing arts in our preschool and beginning acting classes. Children and youth in elementary, middle and high school learn and improve their drama skills as they participate in musical and dramatic productions. Older youth and adults who are ready to make a larger commitment have the opportunity to participate in our audition-only productions. Classes and private lessons are available for people of all ages.
