DCT Opens the 2009/2010 Season With THE TAFFETAS: A Musical Journey Through The Fabulous 50’s 10/30-11/8

By:

It's 1950-something, and Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl & Donna, four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana are making their national television singing debut. "Spotlight on Music," a fictitious weekly 1950's television show on the real-life Dumont Television Network, sets the framework for an evening of some of the greatest hits of the 1950's. A tribute to the girl groups of the 1950's, THE TAFFETAS pay tribute to the sounds of The McGuire Sisters, The Fontane Sisters and The Chordettes. Opening Off-Broadway almost two years before "Forever Plaid," THE TAFFETAS made nostalgia what it is today! Spend an hour and a half with THE TAFFETAS and their three piece band and remember what Sunday night television was like on your 12-inch black and white screen!

Sit back and remember what you were doing when you first heard these songs: Constantinople, Volare, Tennessee Waltz, Mr. Sandman, See The USA In Your Chevrolet, Tonight You Belong To Me, I'm Sorry, Dedicated To The One I Love, Tammy, Johnny Angel, Puppy Love, Little Darlin', Where The Boys Are, Shi-Boom, Love Letters In The Sand, How Much Is That Doggie In The Window, L-O-V-E and many others.

Director John Desmone brings together the following cast: Sara-Jane Bageant (Donna) of Catonsville, Stephanie Knox (Peggy) of Harford County, Brenda L. Tackett (Cheryl) of Harford County, and Becca Vourvoulas (Kaye) of Dundalk. Choreographer: Bambi Johnson and Set/Lights/Sound Marc Smith.

Show Dates are October 30, 31, Nov. 1, 6, 7 and 8.
Friday/Sat. show 8pm, Sun. 3pm. Tickets $22-General, $19-Senior and $14-Student/DCT Actor Rate.
Box Office phone number - 443-840-2787.
