James Hunnicutt, managing director of Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, knows a sure thing when he sees it. And he betting that Cockpit can't go wrong with two classics - the music of George and Ira Gershwin and an Agatha Christie mystery - slated as the closing productions for Cockpit's 37th season in the B Building at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.

All singing! All dancing! All Gershwin! That's Crazy for You, a showcase for Gary Dieter of Parkville and Becca Vourvoulas of Essex in a nutshell. Directed by Robert W. Oppel, the musical combines a very witty script with fabulous dance numbers and the best music and lyrics of the incomparable Gershwin brothers - George and Ira. The production includes such favorites as Bidin' My Time, I Got Rhythm, They Can Take That Away from Me, But Not for Me, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Embraceable You, Someone to Watch Over me and much more.

Other performers include: Jim Biernatowski, Emily Biondi, Jeff Burch, Tom Burns, Lacy Comstock, Erin Confair, Kristen Cooley, John Desmone, Greg Dorsey, Tim Flaharty, Jim Gerhardt, Holly Gibbs, Lou Ghitman, Dave Guy, John Hussar, Natalie Knox, Kelsey Lake, Danielle Cerne-Lott, Amy Luchey, Susan Luchey, Laura May, Paula Montrie, Tammy Oppel, Michael Rosteck, Roger Schulman, Joe Tudor, Laura Weiss, Andrea Wildason, Tod Wildason and Nathan Wilhide.

Crazy for You runs July 17 through Aug. 2 on the Mainstage of the B Building Theatre. Ticket are $18 general admission; $16 for seniors (60+) and $12 for children 12 years and younger. Call the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787) for tickets and information.

Agatha Christie's Murder on the Nile is vintage Christie -gather a motley collection of travelers, toss in an exotic destination, add a murder and you have the recipe for a wonderful evening of crime solving. Honeymooners Simon Mostyn (Andrew Charles Macomber II of Owings Mills) and Kay Ridgeway Mostyn (Lynn McCormick of Baltimore) are aboard a paddle steamer on the Nile. With them is Canon Pennefather (Denis L. Latkowski of Perry Hall), Kay's guardian and Jacqueline de Severac (Karin Crighton of Baltimore), a former love interest of Simon.

Also on board are: Shane J. McCormick of Towson (Steward), Susan K. Liberati of Forest Hill (Miss Helen ffoliot-ffoulkes), Emily Jewett of Bel Air (Christina Grant ), Alan M. Berlett of Nottingham (Smith), Nikki Cimino of Towson(Louise), Thomas C. Peters of Parkville(Dr. Bessner) and Ron Decker of Baldwin(Captain McNaught).

Murder on the Nile, directed by John W. Ford of Nottingham, will be performed July 24-Aug. 2 in Cockpit's Cabaret Theatre in the B Building, CCBC Essex. Tickets, which are $15 general admission and $13 for seniors (60+), are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787).
