The Pinoy Relief Fund, Live Nation and Alvarez & Marsal hosted a Pinoy Relief benefit concert last night, March 11th, 2014 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, featuring performances by Jennifer Hudson, Pentatonix, Plain White T's, A Great Big World, Jessica Sanchez, DJ Poet Name Life, and Charice, as well as special guest participation by Dr. Mehmet Oz, APL.De.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, Dante Basco and EGOT award winning songwriter Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson Lopez. On Saturday evening, March 1st at 7:30pm Pace University presented American Showstoppers, with the 13-piece Fred Barton Orchestra, AN EVENING OF JERRY HERMAN. The evening was directed and choreographed by Scott Thompson and produced, orchestrated and hosted by Fred Barton, and starred Klea Blackhurst, Toni DiBuono, Jeffry Denman, Tari Kelly, Damon Kirsche, Beth Leavel, Karen Murphy and the inimitable Lee Roy Reams. The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, presents the live musical production of the Emmy Award-winning 1970's cartoon, Schoolhouse Rock Live! now through May 4. London Theatre Workshop will open the doors to a new, fully functional, 65 seat boutique theatre in the heart of Fulham, on 10 March, 2014. LOVE SONGS at 54 Below featured 'love songs' written by new musical theater composers Will Buck, Lauren Marcus, Ryan Scott Oliver, Drew Overcash, Alexander Sage Oyen, Georgia Stitt, and Zoe Sarnak on February 10, 2014. Broadway Gives Back and Seaview Productions presented the 'Second Annual Broadway Charity Songs' benefit concert on February 24, 2014. 'Broadway Charity Songs' has paired a group of award-winning musical theatre composers with a group outstanding charities and tasked them with composing an original song inspired by the work of that charity. The result is a group of songs gifted to the charities - with the hope that the songs 'go viral' -- increasing awareness for these outstanding organizations.
