The Hartt School alumnus Steve French, a 2003 graduate of Hartt's Actor Training program, joins the acclaimed cast and creative team of the New York City premiere of the new musical The Burnt Part Boy, a co-production between Playwrights Horizons and Vineyard Theatre. The performance runs from April 30 through June 13.

On Monday, May 10, Broadway performer Kevin Crewell will host television and Broadway stars: Donna McKechnie, Mary Beth Peil, Karen Mason, Nicholas Rodriguez, Will Chase, Paige Davis, Chad Kimball, Aaron Lazar, Felicia Finley, Christiane Noll, Robert Petkoff, the JERSEY BOYS/chicago company along with others in the upcoming benefit concert, SING FOR MY SISTER. The benefit will be held at Christ & Saint Stephen's Church at 8 pm.

On Monday, April 26, Jim Caruso was pleased to present Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich in 'The Marcy & Zina Show' as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series. This performance marked the 10th time the writing duo has performed at the historic music room! Joined by Scott Coulter, Jill Abramovitz, Clinton Kelly, Nathan Klau and Jonathan Root, Marcy and Zina offered an hour-long collection of songs, plus a sneak peek at some of their upcoming theatrical projects including 'Freakin' Fabulous'.

On Sunday, April 25, YouTube sensation MIRANDA SINGS performed her fifth sold-out concert as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series. Special guests included Broadway's Annaleigh Ashford, VOCE (the vocal group), Joshua David Evans, Frankie James Grande and Ariana Grande.

The Marriott Theatre presents the Chicago-area premiere of the smash hit Broadway musical THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. The production previews April 28th, opens May 5th, and runs through June 27th. Multi-Jeff Award winner Marc Robin will choreograph and direct.

WaterTower Theatre (WTT) continues their 2009-2010 Season with the Regional Premiere of Frank Higgins' BLACK PEARL SINGS! Directed by Terry Martin, the production will open May 27 and run through June 20, 2010 at the Addison Theatre Centre.

Teens ‘N' Theater will present the 15th Annual Young Playwrights Festival, featuring six original plays, in the Hitchcock Studio Theater at The Rose, May 6 to 9. An ensemble cast of 30 actors, directed by Rose educator Kevin Ehrhart, will perform the works by teen playwrights who have participated in a year-long class at The Rose.

The Pinkster Festival at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow, NY will take place on Sunday, May 16, from noon until 6 pm. Dining on traditional West Indian and African-American cuisine and enjoying drumming, dancing, and dramatic vignettes will be som of this year's highlights.

On Tuesday, May 4 at 6:30 pm, The Jewish Museum will present a conversation with photographer David Goldblatt and Joseph Lelyveld, former New York Times executive editor and correspondent in South Africa. The two will discuss the new exhibition, 'South African Photographs: David Goldblatt', on view at the Museum from May 1 through September 19, 2010.

Seattle Opera's 2009/10 season comes to a conclusion this spring with the world premiere of AMELIA, an original American story that explores our fascination with flight and the powerful bonds between parent and child. Performances at McCaw Hall run from May 8 through 22, 2010.

The musical group Hanson will perform songs from their new album, 'Shout It Out', at The Fox Theatre in Boulder on October 1, at 9 pm. Tickets will go on sale April 30.

Off Center Productions announces auditions for Tennessee William's CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF directed by Kenneth Davis. Audition dates will be May 3 and 4 from 7 pm - 10 pm at the Hickory Community Theatre Council Chamber.

In May, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem will present a month-long focus on the birthplace of jazz, New Orleans.
