Church Basement Ladies, is a new musical comedy featuring four distinct characters and their relationships as they organize the food and solve the problems of a rural Minnesota church about to undergo changes in 1965.

Listeners will hear a special live Tony Awards broadcast hosted by SIRIUS XM hosts Seth Rudetsky and Julie James. In addition to play-by-play commentary and music from the award-winning shows, the special will include exclusive comments from Sir Elton John, composer of the music of Billy Elliot The Musical, which received fifteen nominations, in addition to the premiere of a performance of ?Electricity? by Sir Elton John himself.

It will open Thursday June 4th at 8 p.m. and run Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 on Thursday and Sunday, $20 on Friday, and $22 on Saturday. There will be $5 previews on Tuesday June 2 and Wednesday June 3rd at 8 p.m. We will close on Sunday, July 12th. There will be no show on Saturday, July 4th. Axis Company (1 Sheridan Square, just off 7th Avenue) invites you to the 10th installment of its annual downtown cult favorite Hospital serial. This episodic multimedia play examines the interior life of a man in a terminal coma. Entering this state in a different way every year, the audience travels with him as he roams the vast, dark interiors of his own brain. Although Hospital is a serial play, each evening can be viewed separately as a self-contained, short play. The serial runs June 11 - July 25 at Axis Theater.

Walden Theatre Announces Summer Academy June And August Performances Of An Original Play

Walden Theatre's three-week Summer Academy-6 different casts of twenty-six students each, ages 8-14-will present this original play June through August! The students have worked together with Walden instructors to produce a full-length production, complete with sets and costumes. Written by Hank Willenbrink, Grimm Tales is an original work based on the stories of the famous brothers-when a summer storm sends kids playing in Cherokee Park for cover, they decide to pass the time by telling stories from the Brother's Grimm. What they don't realize is that one of the kids has a real ghost story of their own pulled straight from Louisville Folklore. All performances will be held at Walden Theatre, 1123 Payne Street.

Katharine Hepburn Theater Exhibition Opens 6/10 at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts

The personal theatrical papers of Katharine Hepburn, which were acquired by The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in 2007, will be on view for the first time in the new library exhibition, Katharine Hepburn: In Her Own Files, opening Wednesday, June 10. Her long and rich theater career is documented through typescripts (some, like the script for Coco, annotated in Hepburn?s hand), hundreds of photographs (publicity shots and formal portraits, as well as informal snapshots and rehearsal candids), scrapbooks, promotional ephemera, and sixty years of correspondence (fan mail, congratulatory notes, and general letters from such notable friends and admirers as Judy Garland, Richard Burton, John Ford, Vivien Leigh, Peter O?Toole, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, and Jeremy Irons, among scores of others. She saved telegrams from her friends and from stage crews and even the cards that come with flower bouquets, including many signed ?Pot,? Hepburn?s pet name for long-time companion Spencer Tracy). The exhibition continues through Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Vincent Astor Gallery of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Dorothy and Lewis B.
