Annual Summer Shakespeare Intensive For San Diego Teens To Conlcude With Production Of PERICLESJuly 28, 2009The Old Globe?s second annual Summer Shakespeare Intensive for Teens began on July 20 and will conclude on August 17 with a performance of Shakespeare?s Pericles, Prince of Tyre. The play will be performed in English with scenes in Spanish and American Sign Language. The performance will also be interpreted in sign language for the deaf and hard of hearing. The Intensive is a classical acting program designed to provide an opportunity for committed high school students to refine their acting skills through a full-time, four-week course culminating in a performance on the Globe?s outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre stage. John Scalici To Teach Two Drumming Workshops At Merrimack Hall 8/1July 27, 2009John Scalici is an internationally recognized drum circle facilitator, speaker, musician, clinician, and master teaching artist. He has brought his dynamic, uplifting programs to Asia as well as the United States. His powerful message of 'Unity Through Rhythm' has been featured at college campuses, churches, corporate events, elementary and high school classrooms and throughout the health care industry. Locally, he has led drum circles at Huntsville's annual Panoply Arts Festival.
John will be teaching two drumming workshops at Merrimack Hall on August 1, including a special one-on-one class for young adults with special needs.

CRT's Summer Day Camp, Boomtown Jr. Set To Run 8/3-8July 27, 2009Creede Repertory Theatre is offering day camps for kids August 3rd ? 8th. Boomtown Jr. for ages 12+ will explore the basics of improv comedy. This camp, taught by Jessica Jackson and Charlie Thurston (very talented members of CRT?s Boomtown troupe), is held from 9am-1pm each day. Participants will be involved in an informal showcase for family and friends on the last day of class. Boomtown Jr. promises to be a hilarious learning experience for all!
