Following an acclaimed 2009 season, The Marriott Theatre will present the international phenomenon Fiddler on the Roof, previewing February 17th, opening February 24th, running through April 25th; the regional premiere of the recent Broadway sensation The Drowsy Chaperone, previewing April 28th, opening May 5th, running through June 27th; the effervescent Caribbean musical fairytale Once on This Island, previewing June 30th, opening July 7th, running through August 29th; the multi-Tony Award winning musical A Chorus Line, previewing September 1st, opening September 8th, running through October 31st, 2010; and the beloved classic The Music Man, previewing November 3rd, opening November 10th, and running through January 9th, 2011.

The Old Globe?s second annual Summer Shakespeare Intensive for Teens began on July 20 and will conclude on August 17 with a performance of Shakespeare?s Pericles, Prince of Tyre. The play will be performed in English with scenes in Spanish and American Sign Language. The performance will also be interpreted in sign language for the deaf and hard of hearing. The Intensive is a classical acting program designed to provide an opportunity for committed high school students to refine their acting skills through a full-time, four-week course culminating in a performance on the Globe?s outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre stage. Lyric Theatre is set to hold auditions for its production of Sweeney Todd. They will be casting the following roles: Sweeny Todd, Anthony Hope, Johanna, Beggar Woman, Tobias Ragg, Judge Turpin, The Beadel, Pirelli, and Jonas Fogg. They are also looking for 5 Ensemble members/principal covers.

John Scalici is an internationally recognized drum circle facilitator, speaker, musician, clinician, and master teaching artist. He has brought his dynamic, uplifting programs to Asia as well as the United States. His powerful message of 'Unity Through Rhythm' has been featured at college campuses, churches, corporate events, elementary and high school classrooms and throughout the health care industry. Locally, he has led drum circles at Huntsville's annual Panoply Arts Festival. John will be teaching two drumming workshops at Merrimack Hall on August 1, including a special one-on-one class for young adults with special needs.

The Annex Theatre is set to hold auditions for Jim Bovino's The Believers. Auditions are set to be held Wednesday August 5, 7p-10p (Callbacks to be held Saturday August 8 11a-3p) at the Seattle Children's Theatre, 201 Thomas St (Callbacks held at Annex Theatre, 1100 E Pike St). Pre-prepared audition pieces are not necessary; they will only use the performance text. Auditions will be held rehearsal style, in groups and last approximately one hour.

New York City Center?s 2009-10 season begins on September 22 with the sixth annual Fall for Dance Festival, featuring 20 companies in 10 nights of dance for only $10 per ticket. On Saturday, August 15th, East West Players (EWP) will kick off its 44th season with One Night Only: That?s Sooo Vegas. Directed by Marilyn Tokuda with musical direction by Nathan Wang, this one night only benefit performance offers the fun and excitement of a Las Vegas variety show without the hassle of driving out to the desert.

Creede Repertory Theatre is offering day camps for kids August 3rd ? 8th. Boomtown Jr. for ages 12+ will explore the basics of improv comedy. This camp, taught by Jessica Jackson and Charlie Thurston (very talented members of CRT?s Boomtown troupe), is held from 9am-1pm each day. Participants will be involved in an informal showcase for family and friends on the last day of class. Boomtown Jr. promises to be a hilarious learning experience for all!

This week at BATS Three Spoon Theatre will be taking over with a special double dose of Shakespeare in Vienna Verona - Measure for Measure & Romeo and Juliet, with their trademark enthusiasm and cleverness.
