As broadwayWorld reported earlier today, Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical Chicago have announced that Grammy Award-winner Brandy Norwood will return to Broadway for a special 17-performance only engagement as 'Roxie Hart,' August 17 to 31, 2017 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).

Music legend Barry Manilow stopped his DC concert last night at the MGM National Harbor to help make a very special memory for the newly engaged Bob and Jennifer.  Check out the video below!

Next up at Encores! Off-Center is Kirsten Childs' delightful, provocative, and poignant 2000 musical, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, running July 26-27. Following a young African-American dancer, Viveca, from West Coast suburbia to Broadway, all the while navigating the politics of race and gender in an attempt to uncover her own identity, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin is directed by Robert O'Hara with choreography by Byron Easley and music direction by Annastasia Victory.

Led by Artistic Director Michael Friedman, the popular Encores! Off-Center series returns for its fifth season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals, continuing with Carole King and Maurice Sendak's family musical Really Rosie, directed by Leigh Silverman (August 2-5).
