Blurring the boundaries of classical music, PROJECT Trio is a passionate, high-energy chamber music ensemble comprised of three virtuosic composer/performers from Brooklyn, New York. Louis Armstrong was invited to visit Central and Eastern Europe for four weeks in the spring of 1965, and he barnstormed through Prague, Leipzig, East Berlin, West Berlin, Frankfurt, Bucharest, Belgrade, Zagreb, Liubljana, back to East Berlin, then on to Magdeburg, Erfurt, Schwerin, and East Berlin again--an itinerary that would have felled anyone without Armstrong's enormous reserves. In June 1965, only two months after his return home, Armstrong was off to Eastern Europe again, and in Budapest 91,000 persons jammed the NEP Stadium to hear him play.

Linda Griffiths' play 'Age of Arousal', directed by Jackie Maxwell, opens at the Canadian Shaw Festival's Court House Theatre on August 13. Previews for the play started on July 23. The play is booked until October 10.

Theatre for the New City will host EGO ACTUS presents BROWNSTONE BREAKDOWN from August 12 until August 22. The play is written by Carol W. Berman and directed by Joan Kane. It will feature William Allgood, Debby Brand, Alfred Gingold*, Cat Migliaccio, Shai Trichter*, Viet Vo, and Richard Zekaria.

As a centerpiece of the Morrisville Business Association's borough-wide celebration of a 'Revolutionary Weekend,' Aug. 20 - 22, the nonprofit Actors' NET of Bucks County presents an encore production of the award winning musical 1776. With activities ranging from tours of Historic Summerseat, a colonial era home once owned by two signers of the Declaration of Independence (Robert Morris, for whom the borough is named, and George Clymer), to a special Saturday afternoon program Aug. 22 featuring actor/interpreters discussing the Revolutionary War effort, the weekend promises to be its own historic event. Many businesses and restaurants are offering discounts to residents and visitors to the picturesque community located just across the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ.

The Manhattan Theatre Club will be hosting a free live staged reading of select scenes from the feature film screenplay 'Wonder Drug' on Tuesday, August 17, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This will include the reading and a brief question and answer period. Doors open at 5PM.

Variety reports that Marc Anthony will be guest starring in TNT's hit show 'HawthoRNe', which also stars Jada Pinkett Smith. Anthony will portray a New York Detective, Nick Renata, who is in Richmond investigating a kidnapping and also falls for Smith's character.

EW.com's Ausiello Files reports exclusively today that Tony and Emmy Winner Judd Hirsch will guest star on Syfy's Warehouse 13 in a special holiday episode later this year, according to EW.com. Hirsch will play Artie's (Saul Rubinek) estranged father. According to the report, Paul Blackthorne (The Gates) also guest stars in the episode, playing 'a workaholic who runs afoul of a thief with a Santa fetish.'
