MTV today announced the categories and nominees for the 2018 'MTV Movie & TV Awards,' hosted by Tiffany Haddish, that celebrate the actors, stories and moments that drove pop culture in the last year. The show will once again feature non-gendered categories - a change that marked an industry-first historic shift. 13 Reasons Why is a new series from Netflix adapted from the best-selling books by Jay Asher. It follows teenager Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (newcomer Katherine Langford) -his classmate and crush-who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has today announced the shortlist for the 2018 BAFTA Student Film Awards. Following the international expansion of the Awards in 2017, this year's shortlisted 60 films have been selected from the 469 submissions by students at film schools in 35 countries across the world, including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Russia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Reservoir announces the acquisition of a global stake in the historic catalog of the late American songwriter Hoagy Carmichael. The deals, conducted with Carmichael's heirs, see Reservoir adding nearly 500 Carmichael titles to its multi-genre portfolio, dating as far back as the 1920s.

Lin Evola, the artist behind the Peace Angels Project, will be the guest speaker at a fundraiser and champagne reception at the noted Silicon Valley-based Art Ventures Gallery on May 16th, 2018. Profits from the event will go towards the Silicon Valley Peace Monument, to be created by Evola.

Miramax has just announced it has secured a multi-bank revolving credit facility for $300M led by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and MUFG Union Bank that extends for five years.  The deal provides financing for the studio to produce and finance 4 to 6 films a year as well as deficit finance 2 to 3 television series per year, ramping up their slate and providing more strategy for growth.
