STAGE TUBE: Rena Strober and Student Raise Awareness for Blind Children's Music Education with SUDDENLY SEYMOURJune 17, 2016Rena Strober (Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Disney's Liv & Maddie) is currently living & working in Los Angeles. When not working in TV/Film/Animation, she teaches singing at the Academy of Music for the Blind. One of Rena's students is 7 year old Gavin Stevens who was born blind from a rare condition known as LCA. Small in stature but big in voice, Gavin recently sang the National anthem for the LA Lakers & Kings. He has won hearts all over the world. His voice and love of duets inspired Rena to produce a fully filmed recreation of the classic song in Little Shop of Horrors. Gavin is the perfect miniature Rick Moranis while Rena embodies Ellen Green. Watch the video below!

Segerstrom Center for the Arts Kicks Off 30th Anniversary Celebration with Tour de Force III Dance SpectacularJune 16, 2016Segerstrom Center for the Arts begins its 30th Anniversary celebration with another one-night-only star-studded evening of dance: Tour de Force III. The performance will be the first event to represent the array and diversity of the Center's artistic programming, in this case, 30 years of presenting the greatest ballet companies and the world's most celebrated dancers. Tour de Force III will be on Saturday, August 27 in Segerstrom Hall. Produced in collaboration with Ardani Artists, the program will include four Center premieres: Clay by Vladimir Varnava, Zeitgeist by Alastair Marriott, Tristesse by Marcelo Gomes and Le Divertissement du Roi by Maxim Petrov. The international cast includes Diana Vishneva, Joaquin de Luz, Marcelo Gomes, Denis Matvienko, Marcelino Sambe?, Friedemann Vogel and Edward Watson, as well as members of the The Royal Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada.

2016 Tony-Award Nominated Best Play ECLIPSED Will Have West Coast Premiere Engagement at The Curran Next SpringJune 5, 2016Playwright Danai Gurira and director Liesl Tommy joined the cast of Broadway's Eclipsed tonight where she surprised the audience during the curtain call and announced plans for Carole Shorenstein Hays to bring the Tony Award-nominated play to the Curran for a limited engagement next spring. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, the most iconic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, along with Wally Hays (Deputy Director of the Curran) were there for the announcement and dedicated the evening's performance to two of the abducted and still missing 218 schoolgirls of Chikbok, Northern Nigeria, and abducted girls all around the world, as part of the show's ongoing series of dedications that was launched by U2 lead singer Bono and Ms. Gurira last month.
