SAG-AFTRA mourns the passing of actor Ernest Borgnine, who died yesterday at the age of 95. Borgnine was honored with the 47th Annual Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award® in 2010 for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. Borgnine served on the Screen Actors Guild Board of Directors from April to November 1962 and again from November 1974 to November 1977.

Luna Stage initiates a new tradition in the Valley Arts District when it brings electric jazz and big band rock to its stages for the last weekend in July. Fans of arena rock, bebop, big bands and jam bands are all welcome to join some of New York's busiest studio musicians, composers, and teachers for two days of futuristic nostalgia. Afternoon events are free and each evening event is $20 for adults, $15 for students with ID.

In a series of four beautifully scored one-act musicals by Michael John LaChiusa, First Lady Suite journeys into the lives of four First Ladies - Jackie Kennedy, Mamie Eisenhower, Bess Truman, and Eleanor Roosevelt - and the people around them. "Weird, Funny, and Wigged out," according to the NY Times, the piece meditates on finding one's identity and how we all must struggle to find our own way while in the shadow of another.

DISNEY'S WINNIE THE POOH runs from August 4th - October 28th with performances every Saturday afternoon and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, and special added weekday performances. All tickets are $17 for lunch and the show.

Revolve Productions will present "PIECES" by Chris Phillips at the 16th New York International Fringe Festival this August. The new play is directed by Brian Zimmer and will be performing at the historic Cherry Lane Theatre in the Village at 38 Commerce Street, NYC. MINDSET, a surrealist rock opera, today announced four professional teen actors have been cast in the Capital Fringe Festival show.

Beck Center for the Arts presents Legally Blonde The Musical on the Mackey Main Stage, July 6 through August 12, 2012. This award-winning Broadway hit musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the MGM major motion picture, Legally Blonde which starred Reese Witherspoon. With music and lyrics by a top-of-their-class creative team, Legally Blonde The Musical was nominated for seven Tony Awards including Best Score and Best Book of a Musical. On Sunday, July 15th 2012, theatre lovers of all ages will be joining hundreds of Boston area children and teens at the 5th annual CBACT Children's Theatre Festival, hosted this year by the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston in Newton, MA, home of JCC Kaleidoscope Camp and JCC Showstoppers. This full day of theatre includes interactive workshops and live performances from children's theatres throughout the Greater Boston area -- one of which is Mansfield/Foxboro's Un-Common Theatre Company.
