Milwaukee Children's Choir has hired Marco Melendez as its new artistic director, beginning with the 2012-2013 season. Mr. Melendez, who showed exceptional musical talent when he began conducting at the age of fifteen, takes the reins as the choir's artistic director on Sept. 3, 2012 at the age of 27.

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) opens Season 28 with the Rhode Island premiere of After the Revolution by rising American playwright Amy Herzog (4,000 Miles, Belleville). Gamm Artistic Director Tony Estrella directs Herzog's engrossing contemporary drama about a loving clan of leftist 'idealists'. At the center is the story of Emma Joseph (Diana Buirski) and her father, Ben (Jim O'Brien), whose close bond, built on shared politics, is shattered by a family revelation.

Stamford Center for the Arts has announced Kathleen Madigan's "Gone Madigan" national theater tour is coming to the Palace Theatre in Stamford on Saturday, September 15th at 8 PM, sponsored by the WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. This will be the opening show of SCA's 2012-2013 Season celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the Palace Theatre, sponsored by Seaboard Management Properties. Tickets are on sale now.

The 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS played its final performance on Broadway on August 5, 2012, after 30 previews and 1,166 regular performances. MEMPHIS opened on October 19, 2009 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 W. 44th Street), having begun previews on September 23rd. The tour cast of MEMPHIS, which is currently playing around the country, saluted the Broadway company with a rendition of 'Walking in Memphis.' See it below!
