The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program (TDP) - which supports the musical development of young African-American and Latino students - was recently selected to participate in Atlanta's inaugural "Power2Give" campaign, a fundraising effort supported by the Arts & Science Council and the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs that connects donors to creative projects that inspire them.

The producers of A Christmas Story, The Musical have announced further casting for the November 5 -December 30 Broadway engagement at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. John Bolton (Spamalot, Contact, Titanic, "Boardwalk Empire," "Gossip Girl') will reprise his acclaimed performance as The Old Man from the 2011 National Tour. Joining Bolton will be Tony Award nominee Erin Dilly (Nice Work if You Can Get It, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Mother, Zac Ballard (Oliver! at Irish Repertory Theatre) as little brother Randy, Caroline O'Connor (Chicago, Moulin Rouge) as school teacher Miss Shields, and Eddie Korbich (The Little Mermaid, The Drowsy Chaperone, Wicked) as Santa Claus. All join previously announced Dan Lauria (Broadway's Lombardi, TV's "Sullivan & Son" and "The Wonder Years") as Jean Shepherd.

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs will present one of Shakespeare's most intriguing plays, The Winter's Tale, directed by Taibi Magar (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '14). With a story that is both epic and intimate, The Winter's Tale is a roller coaster ride from tragedy to romance to redemption, boasting some of Shakespeare's most beautiful poetry. The musicians and staff of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) mourn the loss of Dennis Kain, Principal Timpanist, who lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, September 15. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
