The 140th anniversary concert season of Oratorio Society of New York, the city's own 200-voice volunteer chorus, which was to begin on November 5 with an all-American program before the effects of Hurricane Sandy forced its postponement, will now launch on Monday, December 17, at 8:00 PM with the group's annual Christmastime performance of Handel's Messiah.

BoHo Theatre and Stage Left Theatre present a joint production of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion. The production runs January 5th through February 10th , 2013, at Theater Wit, and is directed by Stage Left Artistic Director Vance Smith. Pygmalion represents the Bohemian Pillar of Beauty in BoHo Theatre's 2012/2013 Season, and continues Stage Left Theatre's season exploring societal perceptions and expectations of women. This production celebrates the 100th anniversary of Pygmalion, which was first produced in 1913.

Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre is at a crossroads. The Playhouse is facing a pretty serious situation and is in dire need of funds. Playhouse employees have been making strides towards getting the organization out of financial debt. However, it has not been enough. In order to finish out the year, The Playhouse needs to raise at least $250,000.

The Theater for the New City with the support of Spain Culture New York-Consulate General of Spain presents The New Stage Theatre Company's Garden of Delights, written by Fernando Arrabal and directed by Ildiko Nemeth (NY Innovative Theatre Award nominee), with original music by Jon Gilbert Leavitt (Outmusic Award winner). WFUV will give thanks musically this holiday season with two days of concert broadcasts from venues as small as Electric Lady Studios and The Living Room and as large as music festivals like Newport Folk and SXSW, starting on Thursday, November 22nd from 10 AM-Midnight and continuing Friday, November 23rd from 10 AM-2 PM. The first day of the annual Thanksgiving Feastival brings listeners performances by the likes of Dawes, Calexico, Regina Spektor and Wilco as well as a broadcast of the Arlo Guthrie classic "Alice's Restaurant" at noon. On Friday, the live music marathon continues with performances by Shawn Colvin, Alabama Shakes, Norah Jones, and Sigur Ros throughout the day. New Yorkers can tune into WFUV at 90.7 FM, while Thanksgiving revelers across the country and worldwide can stream the whole Feastival at www.wfuv.org.
