Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) champions experimentation in its rowdy DNA PRESENTS season LateNite series. Giving voice to artists working within the mediums of performance art, burlesque and experimental movement theater, DNA warmlywelcomes back Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, this time in his two-night New York City curatorial debut, other.explicit.bodies. Kosoko will perform a solo during the first night's performance. The show and its platform of otherness and eroticism are a direct extension of Kosoko's solo work other.explicit.body., which premiered at Harlem Stage E-moves in April 2012. Performances of other.explicit.bodies. are January 11 and 12. All shows are at 10 p.m.

The board of directors of The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) has announced the appointment of David M. Wax as managing director of the theater, effective November 30, 2012.

Following a sold-out performance benefiting the True Colors Fund featuring special guest Cyndi Lauper at New York City's XL Nightclub and Cabaret, Ballets with a Twist, the hot next generation ballet company, will reunite with Lauper for a charity event at New York City's historic Beacon Theatre.

Victory Gardens continues its 2012-13 season with the American Premiere of Disconnect, written by Anupama Chandrasekhar and directed by Ann Filmer. Warner Bros. Records has announced that it has signed vocalist and award-winning actress Emmy Rossum to its roster. The New York City native will release her first album for the label, a collection of covers of classic songs that span the '20s to the '60s entitled Sentimental Journey, on January 29th, 2013.

Participants spent the day exploring topics including producing, stage management, wig-making, lighting, marketing, theatre journalism, sound, directing, costume design, playwriting and designing. They were able to choose from over 60 workshops delivered by skilled theatre professionals, meet more than 40 exhibitors in the bustling marketplace and visit the 'Ask the Experts' zone which offers one-to-one advice sessions with industry experts.

Jake Epstein, best known as the star of the hugely popular teen series "Degrassi: The Next Generation," will make his Broadway debut as the Peter Parker / Spider-Man Alternate in Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark. On New Year's Eve, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) will present a debut staging of THE BEATLES - A TRIBUTE CONCERT. This anthology of The Beatles' most popular hits dating from 1963 to 1970 will be performed by Jonny James and the Hall of Fames, a local band featuring the talents of such performers as Jonny James, Mike Menard, Andrew Thornbrough, Matt Riehle, and guesting in will be, Mike McDonough of the 'Rubber Soul' Beatles Tribute band. Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter, the producers of Tribes by Nina Raine, announced today the acclaimed Off-Broadway hit play has officially recouped its entire investment. Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) is working with a local visual artist, Kathryne Martin, for the production of THE ROAD TO MECCA by Athol Fugard. Thanks to the support of the Mary L. Nohl Fund, Kathryne is working on many small owl sculptures that mirror the real-life work of the main character in the play, Helen Martins of South Africa. Ms. Helen's work and life bear surprising similarities to Milwaukee's own Mary Nohl's life.

A second 10pm show has been added to 'It's A Brad, Brad World: the Music and Lyrics of Bradford Proctor' on Sunday, December 2nd at the Laurie Beechman theatre. It follows an earlier show at 7:30pm.

The Van Wezel Foundation donated a new grand drape to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. The $15,000 grand drape has been installed and is in use. The first show to use it was Dave Koz & Friends.
